The strategic oil reserve was meant to be used in the time of war. Anyway, based on our usage, it’s good for about a MONTH. Then what, Schmucky? This guy is a sleazy, slimy, lying, douche bag.
How long will it take to go thru everything in reserves? That will be the next major shortage.

The SPR is like taxes. It’s there to use for THEIR political purposes, not the country’s. The military won’t escape. Think transgenders. What’s the use of having any power if you don’t intend to use it. CRT? Why waste the time you have over the school kids when you can indoctrinate them?

IMHO, tapping the reserve is just a temporary gimmick. We need some smart, reasoned solutions, something that has been sorely missing from Wash DC since the last inauguration.
Using those reserves does nothing to help the oil situation.
Schumer wants the oil reserves empty when China invades.
Home heating is supposed to I double this winter. Biden screwed the poach and now WE will pay the price.
Yeah those bills typically come in monthly chunks, so they will be HUGE, even more impressive than a tank of gas.
They’re getting scared. That they’ve even acknowledged high prices as a problem and not spun it as a wonderful sign of a booming Biden economy is surprising to me.
Oil reserves are only good for 2 weeks… will cause more inflation to fill them back up.
This is Chuck Schumer trying to cover his behind. He sees what Biden is doing and he is scared.
Strategic Petroleum Reserve is not to be used to lower the high prices caused by turning off the oil drilling spigot, a political decision. Just turn on the spigot and stop closing down pipelines. The SPR will not help bring natural gas to homes in the dead of winter.
If they actually plan to use the SPR for political reasons, it would make most sense to tap it next summer in advance of Nov elections. I’d think the SPR effect would not be for very long.
When oil was cheap Trump wanted to fill up the reserve with cheap oil “to the top”. Democrats blocked it.
Now that oil is expensive they want to let it go.
The lunatics are running the madhouse.
China implies war threats over Taiwan, and Schumer wants to deplete our strategic reserve. That says a lot about Schumer.
Then when the Republicans get back in, they have to do the responsible thing and fill the oil reserves back up in case there is an national emergency. And when they do, the gas prices will temporarily spike, but the Democrats will scream and blame higher gas costs on the Republican president, even though ultimately the gas prices will drop below what they are under Democrat mismanagement.
