Smallpox vaccine hasn’t been available to civilians in the US since 1972. In the case of a terrorist release of Smallpox, I would get a booster. Anyone who has never been vaccinated for Smallpox before would need just one dose that would be good for a few years. The Federal government established a new stockpile of Smallpox vaccine after the post 9/11 mailings of Anthrax.
Have you looked at the schedule for childhood vaccinations. Most of them are given at least 3 times.
