Absolutely none of these guys get it. Yes, there are a few Trump cultists who view him as the proverbial man in horseback, and the only one who can save the country.

But there are millions more ordinary Trump supporters/voters who ended up backing him because he confronted the left directly, and wasn't afraid of what they said about him. We don't idealize him, and are well aware of his flaws.

But all those NT Republicans who imagine a world where they get rid of Trump and the party returns to them are delusional. Most of the ordinary Republicans who supported Trump will be furious with those who made common cause with leftists against him, because the left 8s a much, much greater danger to this country than Trump's incivility.

“They give Trump far too much credit for our attitudes. He was who we chose to lead us, but we were always there and still are.”

They hate our values, they hate our attitudes, they hate us. They can’t come right out and say that, so they direct their contempt at Trump.

Agree 100%

We did not get ‘attitude’ from Trump - we just finally found someone brave enough to express the attitude we already felt.

I participated in a committee that met to try to convince Trump to run for Governemor of NY state. Instead he chose to run for President (typical Trump!!)

You’re welcome

Exactly. This was never about Trump the man. The left thinks it is and want it to be.

But Trump was the one who bucked the GOP-E that we had been clamoring for four years.

Hence the support.

Who cares what this RINO thinks? He’s not running again anyway because he knows he’d get his ass kicked.

“GOP 2.0 is both a book and a movement that unites people around a common view of civility and freedom. GOP 2.0 puts policy over politics. It aspires to make Americans great. It’s about Geoff Duncan’s “P.E.T. Project,” reviving the party with conservative Policies, genuine Empathy, and a respectful Tone.

“I’m not the only conservative in America who wakes up wishing the past months were just a bad dream. I’m not the lone Republican who feels in my gut that our party is following the wrong path. And I’m not alone in believing there’s a better way forward.”

As Lt. Governor of the State of Georgia, Geoff Duncan never expected to find himself in the national spotlight – or in the crosshairs of the President of the United States. Then the 2020 Election and its aftermath brought the nation’s attention to Georgia. Amidst a hurricane of conspiracy and misinformation, Duncan spoke up for truth, conservative values, and the Republican Party he knows.

Duncan had a front row seat as Georgia endured a long nightmare of fraud allegations, Presidential coercion, a dual runoff that flipped the U.S. Senate, and election reform that sparked national protests. He called for reason and principle even as Donald Trump viciously attacked him. He fought for “the silenced majority,” current or former Republicans who yearn for a party that can reclaim lost ground and leave behind the politics of dishonesty, disorder, and division.

GOP 2.0 is Geoff Duncan’s vision, forged by his unexpected struggle for the party’s future. In his words, “GOP 2.0 is not a new party – it’s a better direction for our Republican Party.” In this refreshing and reinvigorating new book, a leader who has been through the fire lays out a better way forward, one that lifts up reasoned ideas, expands the party, and positions the GOP to win back the White House in 2024.

Sounds like a nothing burger book filled with TDS thoughts.

Heres my instant analysis: This guy is running as this years 'kinder, gentler' republican. A Bush approved assistant democrat amnesty pushing punk.

But he has no chance to win, so what's the point? Ah, a good question. He's got to be there because he was in Georgia and so he can be the guy who shouts how there was no election fraud anywhere, he was there, he watched it, he knows, Trump is lying! That's his whole purpose, to be the guy they use to discredit Trump in the primaries. Then he disappears and somehow ends up quite wealthy. The Bushes will use the lowest, dirtiest politics to smear conservatives. Meanwhile they reach across the aisle to their friends on the democrat side. This game is old, some people are still fooled by them but they must want to be fooled into thinking the GOP is a conservative party because other than their words nothing they do supports that notion.

They give Trump far too much credit for our attitudes. He was who we chose to lead us, but we were always there and still are.

That's what I keep trying to tell the few, liberal acquaintances that I still speak with. Trump is NOT the CAUSE of all the "incivility" they perceive. He is the RESULT of us all being FED UP with UniParty RINO's.

He's the BEST leader we've found, so far... but, we will find more.

They did the same when it came to Rush, believing that he decreed and we followed. But they weren’t paying attention, because when Rush went a bit off track once in a while (not often), he had hell to pay because we called him on it.

They are ignorant of facts. Here’s the thing: If they decided to become UN-ignorant and actually research the truth, many (not all, for sure) of them would convert to our side.

I suspect it will certainly last longer than Duncan's political career does.

Trump is simply a New York City “Street Kid”. His dad wisely threw young Donald into the frying pan to work with all those building trades experts...they were smarter, more creative, more intelligent and more street wise then anyone who went to the Ivy League schools. Then Trumpie became a great talented baseball player, which forced him to learn now to focus on the prize, and then he attended one of the best business schools in the USA!!! Trumpie is leadership from head to toe and also a great people person!!!
