Stupid, unserious person. You need cops but don’t want them - and indeed ran them off. You want social workers but don’t need them. So you’re just now submitting a plan that you knew needed submission a full year ago.

Whadda dunce!

Lest we forget that she and her ilk are to blame.

Yes, they are doomed. Only upstarts would take that job as any experienced cop wouldn’t go near it. Imagine a cop getting into a shootout with a bank robber...he kills the bank robber and gets shot himself, then upon getting out of the hospital he gets arrested for murder. In Seattle the jury would be falling all over themselves to convict the cop!

I’m reminded of a passage from Hemmingway:

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

There are those who say that Seattle was once a conservative town. That may be true, but only if you hold that America was once a conservative country.

The truth is, Seattleites have always contained a contingent of misfits and weirdos, all marching to the beat of some demented drummer.

Seattle’s problem is (in my estimation anyway) that there were too few civic-minded right wingers interested in administering to Seattle’s needs. They were more interested in making money (I guess I can’t blame them).

But (especially in the 80’s) there was no shortage of leftist activists, all wanting to do that “fundamental transformative change” crap. At first Seattleites voted for the most benign of the loonies, but sometime in the early 2010’s that changed and the rule became “the loonier the better”.

Remember the joke about “Pat Paulson for president”? For Seattleites it was no joke. And they’ve been electing morons ever since.

From defund to fund? From fund to defund? Back and forth?
People’s safety in jeopardy.

Defund the police was really about replacing the police with Cheka.
