No matter who they bribe, there are technological impediments they can’t overcome. China simply doesn’t have the ability to make these kinds of chips on the same process (which means the physical size of the chip) that the big boys can.
Building competent CPU fabs is difficult and expensive and even when done right, the ‘spoilage’ from the process - which is to say the percentage of chips from each wafer that simply don’t work because of manufacturing defects - is reasonably high. Because of this, and other reasons, it’s simply not economically feasible to ‘fake’ one of these sophisticated chips.
Looking at all the supply chain issues we have because so much is made in China, and watching the new and used car lots empty out here with prices increasing weekly, it appears it's going to be a long road back to get high tech manufacturing going in America again.
I read the other day that if you or I purchased a new car last year, we could sell it for more than we paid for it this year and make a profit on it. That's a hell of a symptom for what's going on in the world right now isn't it?
You work for the CCP?
Buy American
My daughter bought a 2022 Hyundai (parent company to Kia) Tucson about a month ago. It’s an incredibly competent SUV. Neither Ford nor GM make anything that can touch the features it has, the warranty it offers or the quality of interior and exterior finishes.
The Koreans have easily surpassed American automakers in both quality and reliability and value as well. There’s not an American brand in the Top 15 of Consumer Reports most reliable car makers.
They show off some of the fakes China makes. Companies are sued but the Chinese courts will say not a knockoff etc.
