The leftist (like every Hollywood creature) actor Tom Hanks was bending over backwards to show his anti-racist credentials, but even groveling was not enough to spare him. This was because the characters he had portrayed had been white males who displayed what are now considered the dread characteristics of whiteness, awful white racist things like individualism, triumphing over adversity, exercising ingenuity or even treating people decently.
So now it’s not enough for these actors to grovel to “anti-racism,” but they are responsible for the (fictional) characters of the parts they have played, and they are called out and destroyed by the lunatic left using NPR - and hence, our tax dollars - as a platform.
If viewership of the Academy awards is any indicator,I think even nutjob progressives are tired of hearing from the vacuous minds of Hollywood looking for affirmation. I don’t care that Hanks is now in their sites. Should have taken a cue from the few Hollywood conservatives and leaned to shut up and act.That was what he is paid for.If I wanted a lecture, I would have turned to my wife, not Forest Gump. lol

That movie was vile, virtue-signaling propaganda and contained ridiculously unrealistic scenes, like the gay guy's delighted extended family sitting in a circle and welcoming him—in his advanced stage of AIDS—to hold the new baby. When I went to visit an employee with AIDS in the hospital during that same period of time, even in a big city in a blue state, the doctors and nurses were obviously nervous and keeping their distance from him.
But bet the farm, that NPR will defend him for his alleged pedophilic evils.

A big problem in NJ is that whereas many used to leave when they retired, now many are leaving when the last child finishes high school (not college - they go elsewhere). When young people go to school elsewhere, they realize how expensive and crappy NJ is in comparison.
The Passaic River moat is generally still effective. Harrison has seen a ton of development near its PATH station, and the Newark Dem gibsmedats were furious that it wasn’t done just a little further west near their PATH station - it is a different town AND county, so they can’t get their cut.
Outside of a transit hub and airport, there is nothing there; I remember when the mayor tried to stop people from referring to airport as “Newark Liberty” because he knew eventually it would just be “Liberty”...
