MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. (WLOS) — Two owners from a Maggie Valley Inn are going viral after posting what some are calling a gross message on their kiosk.
"Right now, the kiosk says ACAB, the barrel is rotten," Kitty Currin said.
She and her husband Cody Currin have run the Our Place Inn in Maggie Valley since 2015, but it’s only recent that the inn’s online presence has really exploded.
"Last that I checked, our post had reached 100,000 people,” Kitty Currin said. “So, while it's a little bit of an extreme acronym, I would say it's reached a lot of people a lot faster than anything else we've done.”
"It's basically an acronym that's come up because of years of people suggesting we need police reform, and we've done it politely,” Kitty Currin said. My son was in Maggie this past weekend for a wedding. He said there was a biker festival going on and they were there by the hundreds.
So it's not so much about an expression of a deeply held socio-political sentiment, as it is about being an online attention whore.

Just sent the establishment an email lodging my displeasure with this and letting them know that I will do all in my power through family and friends in the Maggie Valley area to discourage folks from doing business with this campground.

Near where I used to live in Acton, there was the Concordian Inn, (surprisingly near the Concord town line) a similar establishment to Our Place Inn. Reading the weekly police blotter there was about one incident per week at the Concordian. They must be nuts.

In the future, the Our Place Inn is going to have some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Right now the liberals who work at Massachusetts based Tripadvisor aren’t allowing any negative reviews.
