Everyone knows that whitey stole everything we now know from the blacks in mother Africa. Just ask Calypso Louie
“Abolish the law of gravity!”
You may have a point. Gravity is racist because it attracts blacks, black women on welfare especially, more strongly than it does others.
I think that is the problem. Since politics now plays such a huge role, many of the people in these positions are not truly successful. They only got there because they knew what to kiss and when to kiss it.
That’s ok, next time I run my car into a non-white individual, I’ll simply ask them to prove how the momentum of my vehicle caused them any harm.
To add to your list: roads, bridges, clean water, electricity, air conditioning, stoves, refrigerators, modern medicine, etc.
Here it comes, the Volt, Henry, Farad(ay), Hertz, Planck, Ampere, Watt, BTU, Ohm...all going to get renamed.
(Actually, the Arabs got them from India, but Newton may not have known that.)

He must have stepped on a few toes while climbing up to the shoulders of giants?
—” I really want to read that book.”
Have you searched for it as a used book?
I have found some very good deals, even on recent releases.
They were stamped REVIEW COPY.
I have heard that publishers send multiple copies, knowing the reviewers sell them to the book dealers.

Are you an editor for NPR? That sounds just like something they would say. Crazy world right now.
Gravity is racist! Apples are racist!
There will be a worldwide war.
It will be ignorant savages versus intelligent and civilized men.
I cannot wait. I want a large body count.
I searched for used books on Amazon. They weren’t much cheaper than a one from Amazon. I have another used book store in my bookmarks. I’ll check that out. Thanks for reminding me.
I usually just search on the title, click SHOPPING, and see what pops up.
I did both of things you suggested and didn’t find anything significantly less expensive than Amazon. Well, there were a couple in the UK, but they wanted 30 bucks for shipping.
I did find e-books for about $10, but I tried e-books and I just don’t like them.
Thank you very much for your help, and my next attempt will be to try my local library. There’s a system of libraries in my town under one umbrella and I can go their website, look for my book and order it, and I will be notified when it is at my local library they will notify me. That’s what they say, but I’ve yet to try it. But I’ve been reading quite a bit lately and, even though I read a couple of great biographies, I never read a book more than once, although I still have a lot of my college texts for reference.
I have been ordering books from my local library network for years......great service. Even during the COVID lockdown you could do it....curbside pickup.

How long before bridges start falling down, cars lose their wheels, engines fall off airplanes, assembly lines freeze up, ad nausium?

I’ve had some luck with this service looking for odd books.
“Search many libraries at once for an item and then locate it in a library nearby”
Works well with my Zipcode.

I thought it was already happening!
