The prosecution witness yesterday admitted on cross examination that the photographic evidence clearly indicates that Chauvin’s knee was on the shoulder, back of Floyd and not on his neck.

I don’t think it matters what the outcome is, Cities like Minneapolis New York, Portland, etc. will burn either way. It just depends how much.

I was thinking the same thing. From everything I’ve read and heard, the procedure he was using was literally Minneapolis police policy and then his chief shows up and says he was doing something he shouldn’t have. No matter how much money Minneapolis throws at trying to rehire police officers after they defunded the department, no scene officer is it going to work for them.

“You can’t justify the knee on neck after that.

You can’t.”

Read the article. The prosecution witness makes the DEFENSE’s case that what you wrote is not true!

Officer Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck after he was cuffed for over 8 minutes.

Officer Chauvin did not de-escalate, he snuffed Floyd’s life out. Hell, the taser may have been a better decision.

Floyd was a bad guy with a lot of problems no question, but “execution” in restraints in inexcusable.

FU Chauvin!

The lab results from Floyd’s blood draws will confirm fentanyl and other opioid overdose leading to respiratory suppression— NOT caused by the officer.

The BLM manipulation of what they had to have known was false accusation of Chauvin is the true national CRIMINAL act- costing billions in property and human loss. THAT is the story that should be reported, but MSM will never. It was organized LEFTIST CRIME. And the principal leadership should be pursued to imprisonment and more if proven capital crimes committed.

“To counter the prosecution’s suggestions to the jury that Chauvin’s use-of-force could no longer be justified once Floyd was handcuffed and prone, Nelson asked Stiger if a suspect in handcuffs can still be a threat? Yes, answered Stiger. They can bite, kick, run. Yes.

They can get the officer’s weapon? Yes. Even if handcuffed. Yes.

The notion that a handcuffed suspect is no longer a threat is not correct, a handcuffed suspect can continue to present a risk? Yes, answered Stiger.”

Even on Tuesday’s evening broadcast, my local news portrayed the day’s events as incredibly helpful to the prosecution case when in fact, it was one of the worst days for a prosecution team in the history of American criminal law.

The media is maintaining this public expectation amongst the great ignorant unwashed that this is a slam-dunk case for the state. This of course is like pouring gasoline on a smoldering fire. When the jury comes back hung, or worse yet acquits, after weeks of the media telling the public how great it’s going, the fires will only be brighter and taller.

After watching and reading a bit, that is my thought as well. The defense hasn’t even had their chance in the two most serious charges are done it seems in the manslaughter charge is already starting to look a bit shaky. Yeah Kerber we had the left demanding first-degree murder charges for him in the state draft that early on.

I have to wonder if this will be another one of those cases with the state and media try to railroad a police officer or someone else to gain sympathy with BLM or would you have it come back and bite them when they can’t prove their case in the city is burned again.

Again, I’ll repeat: The State’s OWN WITNESS was forced to admit on cross-examination that Chauvin’s knee was NOT on George Floyd’s neck.

It’s right there in the videos attached to the story. Do yourself a solid and take the time to watch them. You’re embarrassing yourself.

F protocol.

Custody means just that, the cop is the custodian and responsible for the safety of those in his or her custody.

Didn’t happen here.

How stupid do you have to be to keep your knee down when the guy is begging for mercy?

...for so long.

There is no excuse.

Manslaughter. ...and the procedures need updating.

Bad guy didn’t deserve assisted death. Period.

Awful witness. Wrote a 26 page report with 400 plus pages of attachments. Didn’t bother to look at videos. Turns out he was a great witness for defense.

I don’t like the amount of power cops have. I have issues with ‘qualified immunity.’
But Chauvin didn’t cause Floyd’s death; Floyd was having problems breathing BEFORE he was restrained.
As for the restraint, video shows Chauvin’s knee was on his back and shoulders, not his neck. Chauvin and his fellow cops were dealing with a potentially hostile crowd and Floyd wasn’t cooperating. They needed Floyd restrained while they kept an eye on the local wildlife and waited for the paramedics that they called in response to Floyd’s distress that was happening BEFORE he was restrained under Chauvin’s knee. Oh, and the prosecution’s Expert Witness? He was forced to admit that he did that way, too.
Floyd was dead no matter what. If he had sat quietly in the back of the cop car he would died. If the cops let him wander away, he would have died. If the ambulance had gotten their earlier, Chauvin would have still been DOA.
No matter how bad it looks, Chauvin and his comrades did their best in a crappy situation. Floyd died because he swallowed his inventory of the drugs he dealt. Chauvin doesn’t deserve prison and the world is better place for being rid of Floyd.

Agree with your post except that the cops did their best. All rookies except Chauvin. Should have gotten Ambulance sooner and gone directly to hospital.

Everybody just STFU. The cop put his knee on a cuffed perp. He posed NO ADDITIONAL THREAT.

Instead of telling everyone to STFU, how about you read the summary of Day 8?

Here's what Stiger, expert witness for the prosecution, had to say under cross examination about handcuffed perps:

To counter the prosecution’s suggestions to the jury that Chauvin’s use-of-force could no longer be justified once Floyd was handcuffed and prone, Nelson asked Stiger if a suspect in handcuffs can still be a threat? Yes, answered Stiger. They can bite, kick, run. Yes.

They can get the officer’s weapon? Yes. Even if handcuffed. Yes.

The notion that a handcuffed suspect is no longer a threat is not correct, a handcuffed suspect can continue to present a risk? Yes, answered Stiger.
