I think that the dogs are probably acutely aware of the presidents dementia and are used to calm the president. Most dogs are emotionally tied to there person and if that person is disturbed the dog would be to. lots of dog get agitated and are dangerous if the person they are emotionally tied to gets agitated becouse they will look to there human for guidance in social situation. if that human is incapable of providing it the dog will become overtly protective and unpredictable in there behavior.

Dogs that bite unpredictably need to be put down. Our neighbor’s dog bit my son and later, my wife. They did the right thing and put him down. Dog owners are often blind to their own dog’s rogue personality.
