When you look at Israel prioritized its vaccines toward the most vulnerable, their picture looks dramatically better than 50% might suggest.

Over 98% of Israelis over 50 years old, who are not members of the most vaccine hesitant groups the Ultra-Orthodox Haredi, or ethnically Arab Israelis) have already received at least a first shot (which confers significant immunity after two weeks). Those over 50 years old in those hesitant groups are over 80% with a first shot, and now going quickly.

Israeli new cases, hospitalizations and deaths have plummeted, as predicted based on the vaccination percentages.

The good news is that we have heavily prioritized our most vulnerable as well. Nursing home residents are basically fully vaccinated, and those 65 and older are nearing 70% with at least a first shot. American hospital COVID wards in the USA have been emptying out over the last two months, down to a quarter of what they were in January.

Yeah, thanks. You’re, I think, number 8 person to point this out. I appreciate the feedback.

“The country continues to face criticism for its decision not to include Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza in its vaccination campaign.”

If they had, the media would have become big-time anti-vaccers overnight, claiming that Israel was trying to KILL the Palestinians by supplying them with tainted vaccines...particularly if the one or two Palestinians with serious side effects are brought forward.

Anyway, the real reason for not supplying them, which the author, I guess, doesn’t consider newsworthy is that Israel’s agreements with the Palestinians make it clear that Israel plays no part in their healthcare system.

“The US is ~50% vaccinated as well, but our economy is flagging. It has nothing to do with the vaccines and everything to do with the regime in power.”

We’re about 20%.

Florida has its act together. An older (83) family friend was unable to get an appointment for the vaccine here in Hellinois no matter how hard she and friends tried to get her one.

As her oldest son lives in south Florida, he got her an appointment, flew her down and she got her first, then second shot 4 weeks later and flew back to Hellinois.

Meanwhile here in the Shitcago area, the focus is on “equity” of vaccine distribution which leaves so many elderly unvaccinated and at risk.

The vaccine is as political as the virus here. Pathetic.

Your Governor rocks.

That’s alarmingly high. I thought the US had more smart people than that.

Please correct my post about the number of people in the US who’ve been vaccinated. Now YOU could be magic number 10!

I’m very sorry. I know nothing of viruses or vaccines. It’s been business as usual around here for me. I have noticed though when I go out that I see people thinking it’s Halloween everyday and everyone wears the same costume. They all dress like giant babies, but instead of wearing a diaper normally, they put them on their faces. I just shrug and carry on, I guess I’m not socially SauvĂ© enough to participate. Sometimes they try to yell things to me, but I think they have voice synthesizers, because it all sounds like “bahhhh, bahhh, bahhhh!” I only speak in sheepdog, so I can’t make out what they’re saying.

Sorry for piling on - it was not intended. I just replied when I first saw it, before reading the whole thread.

It was a very happy moving day out of Hellinois in 1998. More happy everyday. After a dozen tears in the beautiful northwest now spending final years in Florida. What a well run state this is! Even the DOT is efficient & friendly here.

Only remaining wish is cruises begin to sail again soon from Florida. Add to my total of 36 so far. While cruising is so convenient from here with no need for flights or hotels, the best cruise were in Europe & Asia mainly because we got to see so many interesting places. The French Riviera coast is amazing. And so are Singapore & Hong Kong.

You are on the right track. The market has been over-valued since Trump got elected. I am a follower of the French rich guy Rothschild who said “I got rich by selling early”.

So I got out of the market in 2017, and jumped in last year in March & April. Now 70% out, and will be 100% out by end of May. Then just park in hi-yield index funds until next crash.
Can never go broke cashing profits, and not try to find the exact top.

I know nothing of viruses or vaccines.

That much is quite clear - yet you keep commenting on them.

Sarcasm.

You must of missed them.

I really don’t care if you want to bleet with the other sheep. It bothers me a little because I do care for sheep, but sheep will be sheep. Easy prey and easily controlled by fear.
