California Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a bill establishing a task force to study and make recommendations on reparations for slavery.
Bill AB 3121 — the first of its kind in any state — was signed on Wednesday. It creates a nine-member task force that will inform Californians about slavery and explore ways the state might provide reparations, Newsom’s office said in a news release.
The task force will convene in the wake of nationwide protests calling for racial justice and police reform following the death of George Floyd while in police custody in May. Democratic lawmakers in Congress have also called for a vote on a bill to study reparations.
“As a nation, we can only truly thrive when every one of us has the opportunity to thrive. Our painful history of slavery has evolved into structural racism and bias built into and permeating throughout our democratic and economic institutions,” said Newsom in the release.
Modern-day slavery turns up now and then in the U.S. and it’s always perpetrated by non-white immigrants — Asians, Africans, Middle Easterners. Slavery has been around forever; it’s only white Westerners who’ve rejected it.
I read an article recently complaining about “white hegemony” and feelings of inadequacy among darker-skinned Indian women living in the USA. It was the typical sort of MSM racialist trash one takes for granted now.
I could only think - you want to see traditional skin-color bias at its greatest? Look at South Asia.

A couple sees a guy that is down and out. They offer him a room
in the back, and a meager income for working for them.
They don’t charge rent. They hope to help him get back on his
feet.
Now this may not be the case here. In these days, it’s a sad fact
that it very well may be exactly this sort of thing.
Maybe they are too much competition for the liquor store down
the block, and this is their way of killing competition.
This may not be the case here.
If it were, a case could be made that they are evil people.
I don’t buy off on story lines these days.
So their not paying into his FICA. He gets hurt on the job. They throw him out onto the street and he becomes our responsibility. That sounds fair.
Even when they speak English I can’t understand them! I always ask for someone else and tough if they don’t like it.
