I would have never suspected that salmon was such a big concern to inland Idaho.

The beautiful Hetch-Hetchy valley (apparently as beautiful as the Yosemite valley) in Yosemite national park was destroyed by reservoir to give San Francisco their water.
Pres Reagan admin tried to drain the reservoir and restore the valley. Suddenly, all the San Fran snowflakes went in arms to stop it!
Damm the nature, we need the water!
The liberal are all happy to put nature above people, but only, if the people are not them! Hypocrites!

“ The biggest problem seems to be too many seals, who are eating too many salmon.”

Those seals don’t have as much to do with declining runs as Chicom fishing fleets.

The State made a deal of some sort with the power plants that were owned by the utility district here. The coal mines were also on property, so the power supply was a virtual guarantee. The agreement to clean up the coal site, and keep generating power, was to convert the coal fired to NG. There are two, or were two power plants. The first one closed December 31 2020. The next one has until 2022 on the same date. The stupid government here keeps fighting to keep LNG production out of the state too. They literally want to go “carbon free” roads by 2034. Disallowing the sale of gasoline powered vehicles, including ferries, buses and trucks, by 2034.

Salmon is about $12 a pound at the grocery store.

Well, Let’s Fight Like Hell.

Take out Grand Coulee, Chief Joseph (double win), and Bonneville, and The Dalles.

You want dams, we’ll give you dams.

Who needs water and power when I get water out of the tap and power out of the plug in the wall.

Simpson is my critter as well. I NEVER vote for the idiot, always vote against him in the primaries and write in Mickey Mouse in the general.

He is a member of the LDS mafia and there is no getting rid of him in Idaho. Ain’t gonna happen.

Not only power; probably more important is the benefit to agriculture. These dams are the reason southern Idaho is the incredible ag area it has become.

Part of the problem in Simpson's district is Idaho State University and BYU Idaho. Large populations of students eligible to vote. Trying to get someone more conservative than Simpson is a hard sell with all those students. That said, the population is very pro 2nd Amendment and won't go full retard with a Democrat pledged to gun grabbing.

That would be Exit 69 on I-75...

Excellent catch. I have seen the bumper stickers about getting off on it. (See, no smut on my posts.)

Too late, there is a dealership in Boise.

Odd location, though.

Don’t they need these for electric cars?

Perhaps they should go to a Roman Catholic church and learn about the sin called gluttony. Gluttony is what should be taxed, not certain fuels or vehicles or what not. Earning money and owning property are virtues, and should be taxed as little as possible, IMO. Conspicuous consumption is NOT, so a modest sales and use tax is fine with me.

"California has an energy shortage that has been causing blackouts."

I think California should just stop using electricity all together.. I mean, it is produced from dirty fossil fuels, so just rip it all down.! They're in the process of going back to teepees and mud huts anyway so they really don't need all the dirty, excessive stuff..

The only ones in California that really NEED power are the vast number of politicians and Hollywood elites. Let them use solar panels.. Everyone else can do like they always do. Bath at fire hydrant or the beach, and crap in the alley... /s
