Watching Day 2. What stands out from the Democrats’ speeches is how highly they think of themselves. How unspeakably tragic it was for Congress to feel threatened by their constituents. How much worse it is for something to happen to them than to us ordinary people, who can be assaulted by BLM and Antifa for months. We don’t matter; we are not special and precious like our govt. officials.
I think the House Managers are using Trump’s own tweets, recordings and videos against Trump. It seems highly effective. I hope Trump’s lawyers do better.

Earlier on, Senator Mike Lee of Utah caused a ruck by suggesting Trump did invite the mob on the day but deserves a “Mulligan”. That’s already trending.
Trump’s team’s 80+ page submission before these proceedings said President Trump did not deserve responsibility for the conduct of a “small group of criminals” who responded to his call to “fight like hell.” That document also asserted the unconstitutional use of impeachment following an insurrection instead of arguing it wasn’t an insurrection.
Sorry but the whole thing stinks to me of
an attempt by Trump’s remaining supporters and legal team to deflect blame onto the protesters and drop the “there was a Steal” argument altogether.
Basically, “yeah an insurrection happened, yeah Trump screwed up by endorsing it, but rules is rules, you can’t impeach. If we shut up about the steal, will you drop the impeachment?”

Agreed. They act as if it was Pearl Harbor or 9/11 when cities like Portland, Seattle, Kenosha, etc. were under siege for days with rioting, looting, arson and other violence. Of these demtard led cities - which Mayors and Governors are being impeached for malfeasance?
About inciting a riot... I would argue that the incitement was from the Democrat party and their allies (MSM, Social media). Many of us DO believe the election results are questionable if not outright fraud, and the effort to have this evidence in the public square, investigated by the media and judged in a court of law has been stalled, limited or refused. As a result -how else should we feel? And if you sat through hours of testimony from persons explaining the fraud - are you supposed to just let that go? When we no longer have a vote that is counted, you rationally question if you still have a Representative Republic or your freedoms.
The case presented today by the Leftists is the same presented yesterday. Today, they’re taking turns barfing out the same story. I hope President Trump’s team is ready.
It’s absolutely infuriating. We’ve been dealing with covid and unemployment and financial hardship and isolation and violence, and Congress’s response is to throw us crumbs. Then it happens to them, and suddenly mob violence is bad. And police are heroic, ignoring their own rhetoric to defund the police. The hypicrisy is so obvious.
