To ID herself as a Republican would cost her her money AND her ‘standing’ with entertainers. It would even open her up to all kinds of nastiness from the media and her fellow industry ‘coworkers’. That takes real courage!
To ID herself as a Liberal would be a career boost and tons of free publicity ...easy peesy!!

It isn’t the same. Leftists don’t go to Dollywood. All her employees there would lose their jobs. She’d lose either way.
You’d think an imaginative songwriter might use a more imaginative excuse than “scheduling conflicts.” The hollywood-16 virus lives loudly in this one.
If “isn’t sure” is her actual term, maybe the secret lies in those two words. She will “evolve” from isn’t sure to “now that it’s safe to...”
She also donated $1,000 a month for more than a year to many families in the Pigeon Forge area who lost their homes during a major natural catastrophe. If I remember right it was a horrific fire. Her Dollywood helps promote the sale of local crafts which helps poor families.
She’s a devout Christian and a humanitarian. She doesn’t want to get involved in partisan politics. That’s her right. She has also said she wasn’t happy with the people she encountered in Hollywood when she worked there, that she suffered a major depression and wanted nothing more to do with them.
Dolly is okay.
I understand, Dolly, I wouldn’t except a medal from Baraq Hussein 0bama. Or Pedo Joe and the Ho either.

New? She is from the brand of two generations ago.
She is a very successful entertainer, remaining as popular today as she was when she first started 50+ years ago (that doesn’t normally happen), and a successful entrepreneur as well - investing in her home county and creating a nationally famous amusement park, among many other things.
.......it was “9 to 5” in 1980 and as I remember Dolly and Fonda were like sisters insofar as promoting the movie.
“Actions” speak louder than words and even though it was 41 years ago Dolly’s association with that America Hater branded her forever whether she realizes it or not!
She wants to shut up and sing? I’m down with that.

She is outspoken as a queer agenda advocate. That alone impeaches her as any kind of conservative icon.
Her quote when asked about LGBTQ:

Obviously, per your view, all the good, everything positive action she has taken must be weighed against her view above on LGBTQ.....
BTW, that is pretty much President Trump's view as well.
What a colossally ignorant assessment of Dolly Parton, who is not only one of our greatest American folk artists with a naturally great voice and songwriting talent, but also a very generous woman with charitable giving, especially her program to send books to children so they will cherish reading. When wildfires swept the Smoky Mountains a few years ago, she donated a million dollars. She cherishes family and is not afraid to write and sing about Jesus. She even makes fun of her pneumatic figure and stage costumes, "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap."
She is a very witty person. "People say I'm a dumb blonde, but I know that's not true. Because I know I'm not dumb. And I know I'm not blonde!"
She wouldn’t look at you in a million years, so you say vulgar things about her.
And yet she does.
