Good God.
I’m waiting for the Che Guevara school.
Or the Jim Jones school.

The article isn’t clear.
However...
“There are no further details yet on which school might be in the running to honor the late musician, but were it to happen, undoubtedly the legendary rocker would’ve gotten a kick out of the name “Jerry Garcia High.”
How about schools next to each other. One could be te Harvey Milk Middle School. The other could be the Joey Buttafuoco High School.
I lived I forest knolls ca in 95 when ol Jerry died across the street
Not exactly a claim to fame
They could finance the school on t-shirt sales.
or Charles Manson School (parents must supply knife)
More to the point of the School Boards argument, the names are supposed to be relevant to todays society, and to the current students. You can be assured that sub-1% of kids in school know who Jerry Garcia is.
Yes, but they have heard of the ice cream.
What’s next, Timothy Leary High?
Just what is expected from a Local School District.
Just what is expected from a Local School District.
I see what you did there.
The Greatfull dead was a very crappy band that no one would have been able to listen to unless they were stoned or tripping on LSD. Every song they did had the same suck factor going.
Oh, and let’s see, what did Jerry ever do for the city of San Francisco or for kids exactly? Just another example of liberals showing what stupid lunatics they are.
HA! Fools
Jerry Garcia was no America hating Lefty. He loved American music, and his songs embraced rugged individualism. Lots of Conservative Deadheads out there.
The Greatfull dead was a very crappy band...
I disagree. They were at best mediocre musicians but they paid a lot of attention to their sound presentation and their concerts were a lot of fun. But you are right that they were a lot better if you were high ;-)
“Yeah let’s name a school after a drug addict who died in rehab. Good roll model.”
It’s called crapping all over America and rubbing our faces in it.
