Totally agree, President Trump thought people in Washington wanted to do what was best for America, that was not the case. Comeys first visit to the Oval Office was the first indication.
Peter Navarro—Trump’s trade advisor, very wary of everything China related!—saved millions of American lives by convincing Trump to halt flights from China. He pounded the table and wrote memos until he got Trump’s attention and pointed out 40K people were flying in from China every day at that point. Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro and then Trump were mocked and ridiculed for that.

My bet is that he deliberately sabotaged the Trump administration.
As we say in the military, you got to fight with the army you have, not the one you want.
Trump’s allies were few and far between, and there were many who double-crossed him in the end (Jeff Sessions).
When both parties have been running the Swamp for untold decades, it’s hard to find those who have an interest in stopping it.
What cost lives was the leftists’ irrational hatred of DJT, and their ridiculing the idea that the combination of hydroxychloride[?] plus zinc and Z-Pack could resolve early cases of Covid-19.
His check cleared, the new power team likes him for doing his jobs(virus creation, coordination, fear porn pumping so mail in voting took over, etc). Now it’s his time to push the blame onto others to cover his lies.
Trump should have known enough to fire him once he became a willing pawn of the media. Fauci practiced politics - not medicine. Fauci himself, in a moment of candor, said he was being used by the media to hurt the President, but he (like so many others) eventually embraced it.
There was a pattern during the Trump administration played with great effect by the swamp and their media minions with both his appointments and the professional bureaucrat class.
How many times did this story play out? All the predictions of calamity if Trump fired this guy or that gal so instead they were left in place undermining their boss at every turn while the majority of Trump’s advisors cautioned him against firing them or sidelining them.
McConnell and the democrat/media complex had a stranglehold on personnel, career civil servants and appointees, during the Trump administration.
It did not work out well in many cases.
And when he lied about masks.. I guess he killed people too.
Fauci told Cuomo what to say, too.
And Wolf and Levine.
And Whitmer.
The pool he had to pick from was not very good.
The problem with Fauci is he is one of those perpetual bureaucratic barnacles who persist across administrations. He might even be SES (Senior Executive Service) which means he’s basically part of the power structure that executes much of federal government policy in his area.
I’m sure it’s next to impossible to get rid of people at that level. The best you could probably do is sequester them in a meeting room, and pick a different spokesman to be the media face.
Of course it wouldn’t have stopped the media from finding him and putting him on talk shows to get his “view”.
I do not disagree. They tried to “destroy him” (remove his support) for 4 years without success, but they were able to remove him at the first opportunity with the immaculate deception.
In a sane world, they would ignore him and go back to business at usual, but they are still obsessed with Trump and remain committed to his destruction (and ours).
