An attempt to destroy the data from the street would be a futile action in my opinion. Any storage within the structure would no doubt survive, and the data’s likely stored offsite. So I have no idea what the goal of the explosion could be other than a random act of rage, or perhaps a message from some organized, nefarious entity.
Regarding your question, I have my suspicions about ATT. But unfortunately, I have no knowledge of its data infrastructure.
Do servers store their history onsite? I think they do.
