Even “conservative refugees” are driving up the local property values in the places they are invading to California levels.
= = =

Because the Arizona property sellers want to make a huge profit.

well we have many from Idaho here.

So did they pay Idaho price or California price for their property?

Funny, I said them the same thing about people moving into California over the last fifty years.

Any establishment shut down because of COVID dangers should be compensated for loss of income to the owner and their employees. This should be done the same way farmers are compensated when told not to grow a certain crop.

If governors are hating the money going out of their treasury, they should get to work creating methods that allows these businesses to operate safely. Things like ultraviolet air scrubbers and efficient air handling systems, efficient area sanitation methods, better and more comfortable masks.

There should be new technology being considered. Instead all we have are methods that would have been used in 1918.

Yes, you’ve hit on perhaps my biggest gripe. Instead of putting most of their focus on things that would really help, these damn governors whine and complain and fart out inconsistent “mitigation” orders based around methods from 100 years ago. I care for my 90 y/o Mom and STILL can’t get verified quality N95 masks for when I go to the grocery store. (I’m recycling the 5 I have for my wife and myself, but I know they can’t last forever.) Plus I know that at any large store, at this point my exposure is likely, as no HVAC systems have been upgraded, etc.

Heck, I’ve not seen ONE PSA regarding proper mask etiquette, which is essential if masks are to really be effective. I’m not much on lawsuits, but I’m tempted to sue our flippin’ gov’ner on that one...

Well, I hope this young woman gets an army of support and is able to (figuratively speaking) burn down some government and end up able to operate her business.

At least it’s physically possible. For most of the country, this time of year, outside dining is pretty much of a joke. Even with heaters installed (big equipment cost and operational cost), 40 deg. F highs and sometimes wind, rain, etc., just make most restaurant owners who even have the outdoor space simply give up. It’ll be that way or worse until spring, and then a good part of the time you have windy days and / or t’storms.

The perfect example of the hypocrisy of newsom and garcetti.

This is just a couple miles from me. It’s a travesty.

The mask situation makes me furious. I haven't been able to find a mask that doesn't allow my glasses to fog up. I went to the dentist and noticed his mask fit like a glove around his nose. I wanted to know his source and he told me it was provided by the Dentist Association. They weren't available to the public.

I get these emails with appeals to buy what is claimed to be an effective mask. One I got today was for a Frontline KN95 Mask. The cost was $74.95 plus $6.95 S $ H for 20. I don't have $82.00 to throw around on masks that will fog my glasses. The KN95 mask:

I learned that the Chinese made KN95 has a looser fit and would not do the job good money was being paid to do. As a matter of fact, an analysis by the nation’s largest patient safety organization, ECRI, revealed that up to 70 percent of KN95 masks it tested do not meet U.S. standards for effectiveness, raising risks of contracting COVID-19. Even some N95s may not offer a tight enough seal and need to be tested for seal before used in the hospital setting. Hospital workers, who depend on them, will wear one for a week because they are in such short supply.

A couple of live aboard neighbors in our marina just moved out of California because....too liberal, nuts, can’t take it anymore, etc. One couple moved to Nevada.....blue. Another couple moved to Arizona....now blue. I told them...how do you like it now? I told both couples you can’t run from it.

Well, on the lighter side of it, for us guys, if the model comes with the mask...

But, seriously, you’ve described exactly what I’ve found. It’s beyond ridiculous, this far into COVID-19. Heads need to be on pikes.

I came from California and was never liberal. Just cause that idiot Arnold turned into a flaming liberal doesn’t mean the rest of us would. I didn’t leave Cali because of politics, but remember Democrats outnumber Republicans there. Plus who knows what the squishy middle will ever do. Our own idiot governor turned liberal right before our eyes. Also, I read somewhere on hear that the Recall Ducey petition was run by a couple of libs. Besides, do you know what happens if we do remove him from office? Do we get to vote for a new goveIt is important we maintain all of the voting public’s confidence in our elections and this is a positive first step in the right direction.”

“A significant number of voters believe that fraud occurred and with the number of irregularities it is easy to understand why,” said House Majority Leader Petersen. “Especially concerning are the allegations made surrounding the vendor Dominion. It is imperative that the County immediately do a forensic audit on the Dominion software and equipment to make sure the results were accurate.”

Legislators also emphasized to the supervisors how important it is to move expeditiously on this matter.rnor or do we get that socialist hack of a S.O.S. as governor? Also, there is no guarantee that we would get a Republican, let alone a conservative replacement.
