There seem to be two types of negativity on FR:
One is genuine fear, disappointment and hopelessness - we all succumb to it, at least occasionally. Some of us have trained ourselves to hide these feelings, because we believe fear breeds fear - and courage breeds courage. I believe this - but I do not judge people for having a weak moment of hopelessness. These people are still my friends and allies, and occasionally need a word of encouragement, which I am happy to give (or receive, if I am the one having a weak moment).
Then there is the other type - the trolls - who purposely sow fear and hopelessness. These people need to be rooted out - they are the enemy.
It isn’t always possible to tell the difference at first - but after the same behavior is repeated - you can tell who the trolls are.

Ok, I know about trolls. What I’m saying is it does not matter what we post. If I come on and rah, rah about fighting hard. Fighting hard? From behind a keyboard? Seriously?
I have fear, fear of what this country will become.
I have disappointment, disappointed that so many of my fellow Americans are so irredeemably stupid.
And I feel hopeless, because posting on FR isn’t going to do anything. It makes me feel better, I vent, but as far as real accomplishment, does nothing.
The only hope we have is for conservatives to take interest in the public schools, become teachers, get elected to school boards, put pressure on superintendents. Losing the public schools is how we got here. The left understood that, and played the long game. So, for now, they have beaten us.
For what it’s worth, you don’t seem like a troll to me at all.
But it DOES matter what we post from behind a keyboard.
The President has taken the entire weight of the world on his shoulders right now - if he concedes it is over - if he continues to fight - there is still hope.
I don’t know if he goes on FR, but I’m betting that our hopes and prayers and encouragement do get conveyed to him. He can’t always be at a Trump rally hearing tens of thousands of supporters chanting “We love you!”.
Please don’t use FR to send the message to President Trump that we are giving up on him.
