Germany will be plunged back into lockdown with restaurants, bars and theaters closed for a month to stop the rapid spread of COVID-19, officials announced Wednesday.
Chancellor Angela Merkel and the country’s 16 state governors said the partial shutdown will go into force Monday, saying it’s needed after a recent surge in new infections.
“We must act, and now, to avoid an acute national health emergency,” Merkel said in a videoconference.

These ecofascists always talk about how they want to bring the population under some arbitrary number. Perhaps they’re using this as a social experiment to push the mentally unfit over the edge? Suicide rates are skyrocketing right now along with domestic violence and substance abuse rates.

Deaths are declining, as we now know how to treat the virus. A vaccine is close. Hopefully they revolt like they are in Italy. Quarantine everyone over 65 if you want to, but let the rest of the people go about their lives. 99.9 % of people under 50 will survive. It’s a bad strain of the flu people, not even as lethal as H1N1

And it too will fail to prevent the spread of Covid. It will only delay it. It will however prevent the spread of a healthy economy.
So here we are, fall of 2020, a time where people normally sneeze and cough from cold/flu season.
But this time, every cough or sneeze will be a Covid threat to humanity...
And at least Covid will have cured us of flu and cold, instead taking the more financially rewarding and politically expedient form of control.
A lot can happen in 10 years.
Spike in a meaningless metric.
Germany was one of those supposed “success stories”. Turns out, if you prevent anybody in your country from getting a highly contagious disease in March, there are a lot more people who can get that disease in October.
Their case numbers look terrible, much worse than March. Their deaths however are very low compared to march.
This is going to really beat their economy to death and hurt all their trading partners (which is pretty much everyone). They could achieve 90% of the same positive impact by using Sweden’s rules as a template to enable these businesses to continue to operate in a safe and effective manner. Preserve the economy while slowing the spread.
I think the growing backlash against all these lockdowns in Europe will only intensify as they continue these draconian and damaging measures. What’s going to be interesting is how the welfare states in these countries deal with the economic collapse caused by these lockdowns. What do you do when you’re providing every need for millions of your citizens that you’ve put out of work, but without anyone left paying taxes because they’re all out of work? EU rules don’t allow them to run massive deficits and they can’t print their own money.
Meanwhile, Sweden’s cases are up, but not much higher than months ago, and their death rate is near-zero still.

At least they are not imposing new new Zealand’s COVID quarantine Kamps. Pres Kamala and the nz chickie agree. Imprisonment people at home or wherever you can.. for their own good.
