The ugly performance tonight at the Senate vote for a new Justice, and it was a performance, will help some “undecideds” NOT vote democrat this election.

In 1984, the polls in early summer showed Mondale handily beating Ronald Reagan. As it wore on into Fall, Mondale's numbers kept slipping and slipping. Probably the pollsters, looking at the REAL numbers which showed Mondale being flushed down the toilet, knew there was only so much they could prop up a dead horse with their fake polls before they themselves became the laughingstock of the entire nation. So they relented, switched gears, and showed him going down down down down.... And of course as we all know (or at least those of us who didn't attend govt-run schools in the 90's and after), RR took 49 out of 50 states.

Four years later, Dukakis also was shown way up in the polls, beating George H W Bush handily. And once again, his numbers started slipping downwards going into the Fall.

It was at that point that someone one day asked me: "Say, do you know what the word 'Dukakis' actually means in Greek?"

I naively answered, "No. What does it mean?"

"It means .......... 'Mondale'!"

Heh heh! I didn't see that one coming at all.

Think about that for a moment: down by 17 and then winning in close to a 4-to-1 electoral landslide.

That's pretty close to what I predict is about to happen in this Trump-Biden race.
