Biden says he'll set up commission to study reforming Supreme Court if elected
The Hill ^ | 10 22 2020 | John Bowden

Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) said that he would form a commission to "study" the Supreme Court when asked by CBS's Norah O'Donnell whether he would consider "packing" the court, or adding justices past the current nine seats.

In an interview airing Sunday on "60 Minutes," Biden told O'Donnell that if elected he would put together a bipartisan group to provide recommendations within 180 days on how his administration should work to reform the U.S. court system.

"If elected, what I will do is I'll put together a national commission of bipartisan commission of scholars, constitutional scholars, Democrats, Republicans, liberal/conservative. And I will...ask them to over 180 days come back to me with recommendations as to how to reform the court system because it's getting out of whack...the way in which it’s being handled," Biden said in a video released by CBS on Thursday.

"And it's not about court packing. There's a number of other things that our constitutional scholars have debated and I've looked to see what recommendations that commission might make," he added.

Commissions are where controversial proposals go to die.

Nice non-committal middle of the road answer. Which means yes, we will do it if my handlers tell me to, but the Pres. isn’t the one that starts the process it is Congress.

Politicians, especially Democrats, establish commissions to study issues. President Trump, on the other hand, gets things done.

So many things he’s never gonna get to do.

This is an extension of the “listen to the scientists” pablum.

Joe wants to pack the court.
Joe plans to pack the court.
Joe won’t say that he will pack the court.

Joe is going to convene a panel of “experts”.
During tonight’s debate, the question, “Joe, will you pack the court?” can now no longer be answered. Joe has to wait. He needs to hear from his panel of “experts”.

“reforming” Supreme Court.

To me the great reforming would be impeaching Roberts and the libs on the court for writing their own “living constitution”.

Is he going to ask SCOTUS if it is OK to ignore separation of powers?

Appears he will govern by committee; form committees, follow the science, etc. all code meaning following what Harris, Bernie, AOC, Warren, Soros, etc, tell him to do.

Why do democrats need a team to do anything. No leadership just group think and blame. It is nursery school.

He’s like hitler moving around imaginary armies towards the end.

No armies, imaginary or otherwise for Bitem.

Still, your analogy is perfect:

Both moving around underground rooms in a bunker (hitler) or basement(bitem).

Yeah and around April 1st, I’m gonna set up a commission to decide whether I should pay my taxes or not. We’ll just have to see what the outcome is.
