Talk to me when government subsidies are eliminated.
“Let me guess...when one car plugs in, the street lights dim.”
Bad guess.
Not really a dream.
The European car makers are already changing their plants. Do you think major car producers are going to keep gas engine lines and electric lines going? With the rules changing all over the world, there wont be a choice.
In 2035 getting a gas car will be like getting a manual transmission today. Possible, but not common.
“Talk to me when government subsidies are eliminated.”
Has been for Tesla and GM.

Mini-marts will sell gas in containers like they do propane?
Go to Tractor Supply to fill up.
I would definitely have to hit that station in Springfield. It’s 307 miles door-to-door, and I used to run into traffic jams pretty often (construction/accidents) out in the boondocks on I-55.
Also, look at any video shot of the L.A. freeway during the day. 16 lanes, thousands of cars almost bumper to bumper doing 75. Now imagine just 10% of those vehicles needing a charge at pretty well the same time. At current charging capacity that would be unthinkable. Future additions should address this, but that's the future that doesn't exist yet as they want to double the EVs on the street in just a few years, the charging capacity needs to follow. Between the current blackout periods of course.
Which takes hours to charge. Or get 400 miles of range in 10 minutes from a gas powered version
I can get over 600 miles out of my F150.
New 250 kw stations. 20 minute fill-up!
There are still tax subsidies for car buyers. The whole thing stinks really. It’s too soon.
The industry is ready if the consumer wants to move toward EV. But the current EV market share is 2%.

Commuters. They will charge at home at night when we have excess capacity.
From the intenet:
The 800 V battery system is ready to charge at up to 350 kW of power (from DC fast chargers). In about 10 minutes, some 100 miles (160 km) out of the total 350 miles range, could be replenished in the top of the line version.
Charging at high noon, under the AZ desert sun, with not-yet-available 40% solar panels, it would take 100 feet by 100 feet square of solar panels which would cost another $150k or so.
The only people who bought the original Hummer were stupid fat women. The new one is going require even more stupidity.
Sure and everybody has 350 kW ready to deploy.
“But the current EV market share is 2%.”
And growing. Half of Norway’s sales are EV’s.
“Sure and everybody has 350 kW ready to deploy.”
Sure and everybody has a gas station, duh.
Yes, of course. Lets look down and back. That has always been the way forward.
Some of you guys are so old you shit dust.
I am talking 15 years from now. You really believe the world will look the same in 15 years. You will be looking through the top of a casket, so there is that.
So inane not worth a reasonable reply.
You: Just run this puppy for 10 minutes and you can drive 100 miles, maybe 50 if you tow the thing.:
