Pro-Trump Union Blasts Biden for Lying About Endorsement

Pa. Boilermakers Trustee: 'Nobody from his staff—nobody—has ever spoken with us'

A top official at one of Pennsylvania's most powerful labor groups slammed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for falsely boasting of the union's endorsement.

Shawn Steffee, a trustee with Boilermakers Local 154, said that his members were shocked to hear the Democratic nominee claim their support on national television. While Biden claimed to have "sat down" with union leaders to have an in-depth discussion about his plans, Steffee said the Biden campaign never approached his membership. Biden's criticism to fracking led Local 154—the largest local chapter of boilermakers in the country—to endorse President Trump.

"We had a moment of disbelief when our members started blowing our phone up because they said we flip-flopped on our endorsement," Steffee told the Washington Free Beacon. "Nobody from his staff—nobody—has ever spoken with us, so I don't know where he's coming up with that."

When ABC town hall moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up that some Boilermaker Union members do not trust Biden's claim that he supports the fracking industry, the Democrat responded that the "Boilermaker Union overwhelmingly endorsed me." The union's national headquarters has not endorsed any candidates in the 2020 race, while Local 154 endorsed Trump in September.

Unions are right up there with the demonicRAT Party when it comes to institutions that are responsible for the destruction of freedom and free enterprise in this country.

Commence flaming. I'm ready for it.

There was a time when unions served a purpose. That time has long since expired.

Unions are a response to big corporations. Some of their earliest actions - insisting on being paid in legal tender, instead of private company “scrip”, which was only good at the company store, were fine.

I am not aware of union ever pushing us into war, unlike say the arms industry. And unions have no control over the private Fed and the destruction of the purchasing power of the middle class.

I would agree with you that union shops (compulsory membership) are wrong.

I agree. That time was, oh, I don't know, 1908?

There is no legitimate excuse for government employee Unions. IncludingPolice Unions and Firefighter Unions.

Behold as many FReepers come to the defense of police and firefighter Unions.

The unions are keeping CA schools closed. It’s horrible. Seven year olds crying, little headphones on, staring at a computer all day, wiggling on the floor.

And no high school dances or sports or art or music or newspaper or yearbook or graduation or prom.

The teachers unions. SOME in CA are waking up.

My paternal grandfather wrote a lot of essay letters about life in Steelton, PA, at the turn of the 19th/20th century.

Unions saved the working man from wage slavery back then.

Johnny Cash’s “Sixteen Tons” is more truth than fiction.

But that was then...

“Unions saved the working man from wage slavery back then.”

Most of the union people I work with now here in TX are not leftists, and they are not unreasonable. They are with us on MANY issues, and they are for the most part solid Trump supporters. We cannot win without them. And to be honest, with corporate leadership gone “woke”, I’d rather be around the union membership!

Government employee unions are not legitimate.

But conservatives should know better than to send their children to be trained by the enemy in their Bernie factories. Why on Earth do conservatives support government schools, when the product is destroying the Republic?

I’ve had kids in both private and public schools—private schools get awfully expensive with 4 kids, so my kids were in public for a while.

But in CA, even the private schools are closed. They want to reopen but the state is forcing them to stay closed too.

“I’ve had kids in both private and public schools—private schools get awfully expensive with 4 kids, so my kids were in public for a while”

My son has done both as well. But he is now homeschooling via a Christian university online academy. Far cheaper than a brick and mortar private school.

Everyone has to decide on priorities.

Just about everything bad happening in America today could have been prevented had conservatives and Christians acted on principle during the 50 years. It’s probably not too late to start, but I simply don’t see the urgency.

I belonged a labor years ago. The International Laborers Union Of North America, AFL/CIO. At one time(in late ‘70s and ‘80s) was identified as THE most mob infiltrated union organization in America. I came to realize that no union ever has, ever can or ever will create a single job. Not one.

Wut? A Pro-Trump union? Hell has truly frozen over. What happened to the good old days when unions would constantly shoot themselves in the foot and blame someone else? *cough*UAW AFL/CIO*cough*

Without unions embracing entitled attitudes how else will we keep them down? Asking for a friend. /s

“...that no union ever has, ever can or ever will create a single job. Not one.”

I never said that they did.

Repeating myself: unions are a response to big corporations

Union members in many parts of the country are pretty conservative.
