A convicted murderer who helped to stop the London Bridge terror attack last November will have his sentence cut after the Queen intervened.
Steven Gallant, 42, was on day release at an event for reformed prisoners in Fishmongers' Hall when Usman Khan began his attack.
Gallant, armed only with a Narwhal tusk, helped to restrain Khan, who was wearing a fake suicide vest and was armed with two knives.

We need to definitely ban these tusks in the United State. In the Constitution only militias carried these tusks not individual citizens.
Sorry - not a chef. That was the original report. He was there as part of a criminal justice event - he was on day release from prison as part of preparations for his eventual, possible release.
It now looks he will gain that release on licence (a form of parole) ten months earlier than he otherwise would have as the Queen has reduced his minimum sentence before he is eligible so he can apply now, rather than next year - and it is likely to be granted. He genuinely does seem reformed.

It came from Fishmonger’s Hall - the headquarters of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, one of London’s ancient guilds (livery companies). It’s right next to London Bridge, and he was attending an event there while on day release from prison. It has a lot of fishing related stuff on display - he and another man pulled two tusks from a mounting on a wall as the best available weapons.
Don’t know but he should have stabbed the perp BETWEEN the legs, thereby removing the possibility of a bunch of future jihadis and protecting the honour of many sheep!

The perpetrator was shot dead by police shortly afterwards - the brave men who took him down gave them time to get there. So he’s gone from the gene pool.
