I grew up in the Jim Crow South when ‘white supremacists’ were a danger to all that was decent and good. Democrat racists had almost complete power in the South and suppressed the votes of blacks and Republicans. They were the White Citizens Councils, the mayors and the democrat congressional members.
In short, white supremacists were the democrat Establishment. Senator Byrd - a KKK recruiter (Democrat) was leader of the Senator for years... White supremacists had power.
Today every ‘white supremacist’ in the country would NOT be able to elect a dog catcher. They’re powerless. Yesterday’s enemy. An easy enemy to defeat. Today’s distraction from their modern updated equivalents...
Toothless .... powerless a variation on a ‘straw man’ to kick around. The real battle for civil rights happened in the 50’s and 60’s when the enemy was real and had power. The folks fighting democrat racists back then were few and far between. And they were less popular than Trump supporters are today.
Ben Sasse and liberal ‘elites’ are idiots if they feel they’re taking on the democrat racists of old. The people taking on the corrupt power structure today are Trump supporters.
