As long as I get access to the tanning room, I'm ok with that...

Was everyone really that tiny back then? I've re-watched part of the series on Amazon Prime... They look just... malnourished...

1999 has not aged well.

As a kid, loved the series.

It shows up on Comet or Pluto sometimes. I’ll watch some. A lot of the music was better.

Big Finish has a 1999 audio drama that does a better job with the idea than the TV show.

They also expanded The Prisoner a bit.

I checked. The Ruskies are losers in the quest for Mars. They basically never got off the ground in many cases.

Don’t discount Luxembourg so quickly. Aside from having the highest per capita GDP, they’re high tech in areas involving space travel and exploration...might be a junior partner but not insignificant. Lots of money flows through the Duchy.

From wiki:

Luxembourg is a member of the European Space Agency where Luxembourg contributed 23 million Euros in 2015.

The world’s biggest satellite operator (SES Global) has its origin and headquarters in Betzdorf, Luxembourg.

In February 2016, the Government of Luxembourg announced that it would attempt to “jump-start an industrial sector to mine asteroid resources in space” by, among other things, creating a “legal framework” and regulatory incentives for companies involved in the industry.

By June 2016, announced that it would “invest more than US$200 million in research, technology demonstration, and in the direct purchase of equity in companies relocating to Luxembourg.”

By April 2017, three space mining corporations had established headquarters established in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg’s new law took effect in August 2017, ensuring that private operators can be confident about their rights on resources they extract in space. The law provides that space resources can be owned by anyone, not just by Luxembourg citizens or companies.”

Watch and see if one of the first people to go to the moon under this accord gave the last name Loveless.

Australia has some of the biggest mining companies on Earth and the prospect of mining the Moon and the rest of the Solar System makes them happy in their pants.

If you go by the SciFi pulp mags, no woman was ever allowed in space without her 'double Ds'!

Plenty of other sites because screw CNN, but all say the same thing. They got a craft there first.

“I thought it was just going to be a launch site for future missions.”

It is. The run on the moon was a practice for colonizing Mars. Baby steps.

“With the Artemis program, NASA will land the first woman and next man on the Moon by 2024, using innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before. We will collaborate with our commercial and international partners and establish sustainable exploration by the end of the decade. Then, we will use what we learn on and around the Moon to take the next giant leap – sending astronauts to Mars.”
