RNC Chair Unloads on Debate Commission for Election Interference
Townhall.com ^ | October 11, 2020 | Bronson Stocking

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel appeared on CBS' "Face the Nation "on Sunday and called out the Presidential Debate Commission for their election interference.

"I think voters are very frustrated by the corrupt debate commission, that they would cancel a second debate," McDaniel told host Margaret Brennan. "I think it feeds in to the belief that this 47 years that Joe Biden has had in DC is again protecting him from facing the voters. And Americans are frustrated that this election commission interfered with our ability to see these two candidates debate."

Brennan then repeated Democratic talking points, noting the existence of people on the commission who are technically Republicans and accepting the commission's excuse that the debate was canceled due to health concerns. McDaniel corrected the record.

"Well, they're not nonpartisan Republicans. Those Republicans have been very critical of this president," McDaniel pointed out. "They did not follow the science. It was done unilaterally without talking to the candidates and they interfered in the election. It is corrupt. It is what DC is. They are in the pocket of Joe Biden, and they've prevented the American public from seeing these candidates debate and it's wrong for the country."

Former Sen. and Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole felt compelled to speak out in support of President Trump. Dole, 97, said he knows all the Republicans serving on the Presidential Debate Commission personally and considers them all friends. Dole admitted that he is concerned none of them support the president. "A biased Debate Commission is unfair," Dole tweeted

"There is a candidate for president right now doing an absolute power grab," McDaniel warned.

We knew the media would come up with some excuse to cancel the debate and help keep Biden in the basement. The liberal media is all in this election to remove President Trump from the White House.

And if Democrats win, they vow to pack the court and end the filibuster. The green new deal, medicare for all, abolishing fossil fuels, defunding the police -- every nightmare scheme concocted by the far-left will soon be a reality if Democrats succeed in November.

She could have stopped Trump’s inept campaign management team from agreeing to the commission if she’d wanted to.

A Romney is a Romney.

Why is there a debate commission in the first place? It sounds like another democrat run money and influence scam.

The RNC should set up an unbiased type of debate and demand that Biden either show up or be declared incompetent to serve.

called out the Presidential Debate Commission for their election interference

Where to begin?

The indirect election of the President by the State Legislatures was intended, FROM THE BEGINNING, to keep the Federal government (all three branches) out of the process, for obvious reasons.

"Calling out" something (the "Presidential Debate Commission") that should not exist in the first place is pointless.

Congress has no business legislating ANYTHING about Presidential elections, including the financing of them, regulating phony "debates", passing laws that reach within the States over who votes and how, and many other examples.

If Trump is re-elected, the present Republic has a few years to live. If Biden wins, it will end on January 20, 2021.

I no longer care about it. I have children and grandchildren, and I'm moving on to what comes next.

Nonsense. The final decision was up to Trump and Giuliani was the point man for negotiations with the debate commission. It was up to Trump to reject the debate commission out of hand (like most conservatives were urging him to).

Wheels within wheels within wheels.

We here on the outside don't know ANYTHING about what's going on in the DC war.

Our side can't tip its hand - so the process is not transparent to us.

RNC Chair Unloads on Debate Commission for Election Interference

So, ... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

ALL Republicans should Boycott Debate Commission events and Offer and Hold Properly Moderated Debates where everyone Will be required to obey the rules.

She might be right, but it’s like Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown. Why didn’t she prevent any of this BS from happening? We knew the fix was in, in 2016 with those sham debates and 4 years later nothing was setup to prevent any kind of crap we are seeing now? If the RNC chairman/woman can’t do this, wtf are they getting money for?

97 year old Bob Dole once again rose to defend his country and called these people out. What hero looks like.

You think she as the power to override Trump?
Final decision was up to the president. Trump himself repeatedly said the debate commission was stacked against him throughout last year. His point man in the debate was Giuliani, no?

The American people want some questions answered. We are tired of a biased moderator getting to ask the questions. Let the candidates directly question each other, with no one knowing what questions are going to be asked. Let’s see who can take the heat, and who wilts.

I don’t care about debates. My family and friends already know who they are voting for. A couple are voting for Biden the majority, by a large measure, are voting for President Trump.

”Let the candidates directly question each other, with no one knowing what questions are going to be asked. Let’s see who can take the heat, and who wilts.”

Exactly. The moderator in this last debate didn’t even ask the same questions of both candidates. She had slanted, confrontational questions for Mike Pence and nothing but softballs for Harris. That will never change unless Republicans insist on changes.
