He should have known better...and he had a number of enemies..for different reasons but mainly for fooling around with mobsters’ wives.

Yep - wife used to work in one of those clubs in Ohio...the boss liked her “moxie” and ensured everyone knew she was “hands off”...a year after she left the place, he was arrested for arson and murder.
