Switchback circa 1933 after the tunnel was built.

I might produce a very interesting piece with all of the other vintage photographs that we have images of from that period when they were building the tunnel. We are just twelve miles from the east entrance.

By the way, the officials are not grappling with graffiti. Just one more unproven bullshit story to keep us all under control. The other thing is that here we are finding hilarious is the idiots in masks everywhere in the great outdoors. And, it's very easy to spot the lefties as the scowl at us idiot Utah rednecks.

And antiques are just junk that’s really old.

Back in the day; the ancient art was used as targets.

Gee, the left celebrates graffiti when it’s people’s property.

Oddly enough, I haven’t heard about this, but there is an enormous increase in tour buses in the last month. When they were coming through on a more regular basis, there was no vandalism, as most of the busloads I saw were Oriental Tours buses and the tourists on them usually have too much respect for another country too ever deface any part of it.

At least, that’s my take on it, from the mouth of Zion Canyon.

You live in Hurricane?

I haven’t heard a word about graffiti or any other defacing, and there are tour buses through here all the time. Trying to rouse the rabble, is my guess.

I wondered.

Just on the high-concept level, I wonder if people think scratching on a rock doesn’t do any harm, because it would just wash away when it rains. Most people probably aren’t thinking about geologic time!

Nature is fragile. Marks don’t go away. The wagon ruts from the Pioneers are still visible in places.

My cynical opinion is that this article was meant to draw visitors in, and not necessarily kind-to-nature visitors. People are destructive because they haven’t been taught to respect things that aren’t theirs.

Black people are much less likely to camp, hunt or fish in Washington State. I am told that in the South there are many who go fishing, but I do not live there to see it. I don’t think I have ever seen a black person swim in my life. I always heard that their bones were more dense, and the body fat makes it harder to float. So it makes it more difficult.
