If the postmark doesn’t matter then neither does the length of the period of time in which they can be received and counted.

In NY it was just decided that Taped Ballot envelopes would be counted. Imagine that.

yeah and anyone can “sign and witness” and do creative backdating. No one witnesses or verifies the witness.

That sounds like a common sense way of dismissing the issue, but it really isn’t. Think of the “chain of evidence”.
Who delivers the ballots from the mailbox? Does it pass through multiple hands? Can any of those people add addiitional ‘ballots’ without postmarks that never actually were mailed?

Nevermind the judge encouraging lawlessness. The judge writing laws is lawless.
I’ve talked to people from India, in essence a third-world country. They were shocked by how lax our ballot security is. At least back home they all had voter ID and had to do the purple finger thing.
I think you are right.
There was a guy from PA on 60 Minutes recently, who said, that with so many mail in ballots, that PA will not have results to report on election night.
In such a case, the only way networks or candidates can claim a state victory, would be if a candidate has a strong majority of the votes they can count, and gives a result which would not be changed by the later counting of mail in ballots. But those circumstances probably won’t exist.
In Oregon we’ve been doing this mail-in thing for a while. You CANNOT mail you ballot on election day. If it isn’t at the County building by election day, then it’s not counted.

Those are issues that always exist with mail-in ballots and aren't any different because of this postmark ruling.
Every state has their own processes but I imagine they all have bi-partisan observers watching for this stuff.
Plus the ballots still have to pass the other safeguards - signature matching, etc.
I guess anything's possible with a big enough conspiracy...except keeping the conspiracy secret.
