Why would anyone want to identify as black? So they could be hunted down and murdered by the cops? Or become the target for the millions of Klansmen out there? So, they can be discriminated against? Just doesn’t sound like something anyone with any sense would do.

Many proud Sicilians will not even call themselves Italian. Nevertheless, with the advent of Ancestry.com and 23-and-Me, I suspect that many Southern Italians and Sicilians have discovered that they have very little Italian blood.
Beyond the absurdity of this person, a thinking person might step back and question if someone can “pass” as black who is white, is there really any certitude to race at all?

One of the people at work is a female identifying as male. It's not widely known. Everyone just assumes he's an effeminate gay and only cares about his work ethic. That work-focus makes things so much easier than when work becomes about cliques, corrosive gossip, manipulation and personalities.
Pro-tip: If you're often reduced to tears and complaining your leadership position is too much for you and openly telling your superiors you lack self-motivation and need tasks assigned, don't be surprised when you get a review that you're underperforming. Who is going to want to work with you when you claim sexism is a barrier to your success?
