Time for Congress to remove its “monopoly” protections. Let the NFL compete with new leagues. Let the fan base decide if it wants to watch “woke” football or football.

Maybe the short, fat, purple-haired, tattooed, Gen Z white girls who make up the bulk of BLM supporters will become the new NFL core fan base. Hey, it could happen... :)

I stopped a year and half ago and to be honest I don’t miss it anymore. I realized how much time it takes away from everything else. I have gotten more back into fishing and hunting which is way more interesting.
That was football.
Colleges are losing it too. Players from most SEC schools led marches thru campus to president’s house or student union to protest...something.
Boosters not happy; I know some have called to threaten future donations will not happen!
Constantly telling your biggest donors & ticket buying fans how evil & racist they are is not how to ensure future ticket sales & donations!
College teams stay in the locker room during the anthem. But we’re not putting up with any selfish player BS.

Football has always been a metaphor for war, a practice ground for war, where young men train themselves for battle. When our town goes up against your town, people are going to get hurt. Football is a sub-lethal substitute for the warrior instinct.
But, that’s not very darned woke. In a perfect world, 300-pound men colliding at 25 miles per hour would rebound elastically without mussing their hair or dislodging an NFL logo from its proper place on their uniform. Regrettably, the laws of physics are not up to the standards of the NFL, so reality must be set aside in favor of noble ideals.
The thing that amazes me is how easily I have set aside the NFL. I’ve been reading commenters who say they gnashed their teeth and broke out in a sweat over the effort to not peek at a game just for a second. Not me.

'Fans' need to get a life.
Just as bad is what I see on Univision's Liga MX soccercasts. They show stands filled with virtual moving images of fans in boxes, Brady Bunch style. To me they look like ants crawling around.

I was already getting bored with football. I have been away from it since the Kaepernick BS started. The season before that, I had a free subscription to NFL Sunday ticket that I got when I switched satellite providers. I seldom looked at it. I could have several games on the screen at once and could click on one and watch it fullscreen if I wanted to to. I really didn't want to. There is a sameness to watching the same sports year in and year out. Don't miss them.
I became a bigger baseball fan the last 5 or 6 years, but that's over for me too.
Texas A&M’s fundraising is down $150 MILLION because of the admin putting up with BLM vandalism and demands.
Old Ag big donors are not happy.
Football program will not make up that difference.
