Well, I wish there WAS something besides screwing around with the payroll tax.
Needs to be the FIRST priority of any administration, making 100 percent sure that Social Security *WILL* be paid as promised. I am completely on board with a painful public death for anyone even suggesting that benefits be in any way restricted, reduced, or means-tested. Excruciatingly painful death for anyone even breathing that it be eliminated.
Any attack on what we’ve had to contribute into and counted on should result in a large caliber metal jacketed enema.

Isn’t SS treated legally like pensions in that anyone currently covered is not subject to future changes, but new recipients will have different rules regarding eligibility ages?
For years, now, I’ve known people who purposely took SS at the earliest opportunity out of fear it would be diminished.
