YES, I know the area very well. - Once you are SOUTH of ALAMO STREET, you are IN Latin America.
(My favorite place to “go eat fish” is RUDY’S SEAFOOD on South Flores St. = LARGE/GREAT/FRESH/NEVER FROZEN fish filets, freshly cut French fries, crab cakes, fried oysters, etc. at REASONABLE PRICES & “you get more than you paid for” on their “family platters”. - The “9-piece platter” has at least 12 BIG filets & often 14-15 filets.)
RUDY’S has been in business for over 75 YEARS.- A “fish house” doesn’t stay in business, W/O being consistently GOOD.
I have a LOT of friends down there (as does my adopted daughter, wo has been a PROUD US CITIZEN since 05JUL2009. = Noemi was born & spent most of her girlhood in Acapulco & in The DF in Mexico.- She is a graduate of SACRED HEART college.), though I live “up north” of that area.
Southside is generally NOT a “bad area” of The Alamo City, regardless of what many of “the other than Tejanos” say. - Some of the BEST & MOST AUTHENTIC Mexican & Tex-Mex restaurants are in Southside, so the area is “well known” to most “locals” & many people go there for Dinner/Fiestas/etc.
(That said, IF “you are looking for trouble”, you CAN find it in Southside, as you can in any other place else in the World too.)

Well, I know one song that’s getting added to the playlist.

Russell Johnson?
The professor?!
They must have booths there.
Don’t worry Greg Popovich will know what to do.
