Massive munition explosion. The pressure wave speed is tremendous. according to upthread posts, the speed of ammonia nitrate explsoion pressure wave is 2500 meters per second. That’s about 1.5 miles per second, 0r about 5,600 miles per hour.
If you were within 2 miles of that explosion and saw the flash, you might have a second to dive for cover. The people of Beirut didn’t have any chance if they were within 2 miles of the explosion.
If this was an attack, there is a butchers bill to repay.I suspect the US military forensic teams already know .

Yes. I knew from the outset there is no way that force of explosion was contained in fireworks. The substance, whatever it was, I knew had far, far greater potential energy stored it in than fireworks.
My first thought was a rocket fuel explosion. Like the one at the PEPCON plant in Nevada which involved ammonium perchlorate.
