Trump’s public rebuke of Birx sharply contrasts with his frequent denial of tension with fellow task force member Dr. Anthony Fauci, who emerged as a hero to Trump critics for his willingness to fault the US pandemic response.
“So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics. In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!” Trump tweeted.
Birx, who is also the US government’s HIV/AIDS ambassador, said Sunday on CNN that “what we are seeing today is different from March and April — it is extraordinarily widespread.”
“If you have an outbreak in your rural area or in your city, you need to really consider wearing a mask at home, assuming that you’re positive if you have individuals in your home with comorbidities,” Birx said.
Trump recently has insisted the US has more new daily cases than other countries because of more frequent testing for the virus.
Pelosi (D-Calif.) reportedly savaged Birx during a Thursday night meeting with White House officials, calling her “horrible” and “the worst.”
“Deborah Birx is the worst. Wow, what horrible hands you’re in,” Pelosi told Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
Fauci “is now a hero,” Pelosi added.

Keeping them on the team while beating them up on Twitter just belittles you and demeans the office of the Presidency.
At this point Douglas MacArthur got fired for a lot less. He was insubordinate once. Fauci does it at least three times per week.

Trump gave an interview to Hannity awhile back where he said watching Richard Nixon taught him to never fire anybody. I went and banged my head off the table a few times.

Can’t fire a govn’t employee. He could fire the task force but that will get him nowhere.
The headline is stupid. Trump didn’t call Birx “pathetic.”
Pelosi is making a fool of herself. Referring to the “Trump virus” shows she has lost her mind because she knows that Trump is going to win.
Look.... the media has been in full propaganda mode and doing their best at creating division and pitting people at one another across the board...and always with the ultimate goal of destroying Trump by creating havoc around him. They love to create emotional reactions in the public because they know in doing so strong emotions interfers with critical thinking....and is the enemy of logic.
Pelosi is known to speak really extreme things when she feels left out of the media loop....even stating that she does this when the media isn’t giving her the “fair” attention she thinks they should. Say or do something outlandish and the media comes running.
