Karen Bass (D-California), a top candidate for vice president on Democratic contender Joe Biden's ticket, praised the Church of Scientology in 2010 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new Los Angeles facility run by the controversial religious group, as reported by the conservative news site the Daily Caller on Friday.
Bass, who is considered to be among one of four top picks as Joe Biden's running mate in the 2020 US presidential election, spoke at the event while she was serving in the California General Assembly.
“This day and this new Church of Scientology is an exciting moment because I know your goal and your commitment is truly to make a difference,” Bass said at the event of 6,000 attendees.
“The Church of Scientology I know has made a difference, because your creed is a universal creed and one that speaks to all people everywhere,” noted Bass, who also praised Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Praising is Scientology is bad, but being trained by the KGB and Cuban Intelligence is really bad and a no go for me.
Oh Yeah! They’re promoting Karen Bass all over the news media today!
(As a final choice, or as “the latest trial run”? To see if mud will stick on her, or if “new mud” will be dug up in the next few days before Biden accepts the party’s choice for him?)

Lice haircuts are SO flattering.
In the 2012 election, a lot of people didn’t vote for Romney because he was a Mormon. I think even fewer people would vote for a Scientologist.
Outside of Hollywood, Scientology has very few supporters.
Biden won’t pick her. He would lose florida big.
No biggie. She was probably praising a contributor to whom she would listen when asked.
Scientology isn’t the knock against her. She has many other show stopping flaws.
Her Scientology doesn’t bother me half as much as her pro Cuban /pro socialism viewpoints do.
Oh great...the upper half of this ticket praised and wants Islam to have more power in their cause in America and the lower half is praising Scientology and KGB/Cuban elements?

Karen Bass will not make it out of the candidates' pool.
Her "candidacy" won't fly.....she's from California, a state Biden already has in his net.
Plus, she's tied hook, line and sinker with her prior support for Fidel Cast-ro.....and also, for some strange porpoise, with her praise for the Florida Scientology cult groupers.
Bass will be a reel drag on Biden, she's just another one of his gaffs....but I don't want to carp about it any more. I'm just gonna tune the whole thing out.
Just wanted to cast out my own angle on the whole Biden Veep clam bake.

My bet is on Kamala Harris the prosecutor or Michelle Obama.
