Republicans and White House at Odds Over Kansas Senate Race

WASHINGTON — As the Kansas Senate primary barrels to a close, tensions are rising between Senate Republicans and the White House over the potential nomination of Kris Kobach, who party officials fear would jeopardize the seat and further imperil their Senate majority.

Senator Mitch McConnell is worried that Mr. Kobach, the controversial former Kansas secretary of state who lost the 2018 governor’s race, may win the nomination in Tuesday’s primary, only to lose the seat in November — and he is frustrated that President Trump is not intervening in the race, according to multiple G.O.P. officials.

Mr. McConnell and other Senate Republican leaders have made urgent pleas to the president to block Mr. Kobach by endorsing one of his opponents, Representative Roger Marshall. But Mr. Trump has so far declined to do so, and his aides said they had no plans to change course. Compounding the frustration of Capitol Hill Republicans, White House aides have refused to tell Mr. Kobach, a longtime booster of Mr. Trump, to stop using the president’s imagery in his campaign materials.

I said weeks ago that Trump would steer clear of this one. As far as I can tell, he rarely gets involved in these primaries unless one candidate is way ahead of the field. He only endorses winners — to the point where he’d rather endorse a RINO who wins than a Deplorable who doesn’t.

I like Kobach for his politics but I share the same concerns about the fact that he’s been a loser before.

Why should Trump do anything for the RINOs? Let the guy win or lose. Trump isn’t really a politician anyway much to RINOs dismay, but that’s why Trump won in the first place and will win again. Let the RINOs eat schit.

If The Turtle is endorsing anyone against President Trump I would never ever vote for The Turtle’s preference. Ever.
You can bet your paycheck The Turtles choice is a spinless compliant RINO.

He lost when there was a third party moderate Republican siphoning votes away, right?

He also lost his previous election for a House seat.

The worst thing Kobach did in 2018 is run against an incumbent Republican in the primary, and beat him. A whole bunch of former Republican politicians in Kansas actually came out and endorsed the Democrat in that race.

What a-holes those RINOs were.

Sounds like Kris was the only good one of them all.

I’m not from Kansas, so I have no idea what they were.

These are the same Republican senators who nixed President Trump’s nominee for Under Secretary of Defense (BG Anthony Tata). They blocked Herman Cain and Stephen Moore from seats on the Federal Reserve.

I hope President Trump stays with Kris Kobach.

Kris Kobach only lost the GOP race for Governor because both the KS and NATIONAL GOP RINOS pulled their usual dirty tricks and refused to give him a nickel of the people’s money donated to aid and assist GOP candidates are supposed to get to win elections - even against democRATs!

Two other reasons Kobach lost was: (1) that Planned Parenthood has an iron grip on Kansas, especially now that Geo. Tiller’s bloody billions aren’t buying each elected Kansas office and (2) Kobach is so unabashedly pro-America when it comes to jobs among other reasons, the Koch Brothers, the US Chambers of Commerce, Kansas NEA and every other Open Borders donor had to stop him and Kansas from enacting some of Kobach’s and Trump’s long-held values, i.e. English only; ending welfare programs, housing, college tuition for illegal aliens, etc.

Koback’s like President Trump’s values run headlong against the One World Order crowd, and that displeases not only liberal DemocRATs but liberal RINOs and each and every communist in the US!

Balderdash, Collyer was hardly an “incumbent” when he’d only been put in office a few months before so KS RINOs could claim Kobach went up against an “incumbent,” therefore should lose and hand the office to a very liberal democRAT!

It was the RINOs idea to have such a week candidate (in Collyer, who had never held statewide office and only a very friendly small state representative for one term).

This was and continues to be a fight against the Open Borders crowd, like the KOCH Bros. and the KS Chambers of Commerce!

They all demand cheap labor and thanks to the various meat packing plants like Tyson and Smithfield Farms, Kansas now has at least two counties where native born American citizens are a minority and a few more are getting dangerously close, with Spanish is the predominate language spoken,

So wipe away the cobwebs and understand what this race is all about!

Ronald Reagan lost 2 times before becoming President.

Also those “former KS politicians” are the Open Borders, RINO elite crowd, like Bob Dole, Nancy Landon Kassebaum (who once told me she was “socially moderate and fiscally conservative”, to which I said, “ Why then do you vote in lockstep with Teddy Kennedy) each of whom solicited cash from the infamous abortionist, George Tiller!
