Twitter ^ | 07/30/20 | Donald Trump

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

Today he has a 48 pct approval so more than likely around 53/54 pct.
That is enough of the middle to win handily

I didn’t believe that hussein would voluntarily give up the office.

Agreed. We don’t want the precedent anywhere for a Demonrat dictator to use, not that it would stop them anyway.

Yes very smart to pose it as a question.

There is a much better scenario, and a way for him to stay in office.

Depending on how close the election is is a key to what strategy is used.

If he wins by a ‘landslide’ like many are predicting, there will be no problem for him remaining in the White House.

If it's close, a tried but true dem strategy needs to kick in.

Wow! So many pearl clutchers and Trump tweet haters on this thread!

The President’s tweet was rhetorical - EXACTLY like the things our parents would say when we were young:

When our whole senior class “voted“ that the senior prom should not be chaperoned, and there should be no dress code etc., some of the parents and school administrators said “perhaps we should just skip the prom this year?”

One year my siblings and I were arguing about how the family should spend our summer vacation; at the Jersey shore, or lake Wallenpaupac. My parents got tired of the squabbling and said something like “Maybe we’ll skip the vacation this year, what do you think?”

My parents suggested crazier stuff than that. My mom more than once threatened to burn all my stuff if I wouldn’t clean my room. She even had it all piled up and ready to light one time.

I banged up the car for the second time when I was 16 and my dad was so fed up he said he was ready to get rid of the car and buy a team of mules so we could get around via covered wagon. My little brother and sister took it seriously and were not happy with me at all!

That’s the kind of threat parents make when the children are being incorrigible. And they work - they force you to reflect on how much worse off you could be.

This is what President Trump is doing. He is being the adult in the room. He is saying that if the Democrats are going to try and game the system, and exploit the coronavirus, insisting on childish absurdities like mail in ballots, no proof of citizenship, with dead people, illegals and felons voting.....

“.. then maybe if the election is so difficult, we should just postpone it?”

Sounds just like what any fed up parent would say to a problem child.

Exactly. This was foolish of him to suggest.

The date is set by federal code to be the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Been that way for well over 100 years if I recall.

I think where he may be going, or could go, is questioning why it is OK for some states to flaunt the federal code by having “rolling elections” that allow people to vote some 30 days before the election and/or to force feed them ballots by mail based on outdated registration rolls... why can the date be moved forward, and not backward?

So it I asked something like "If the world was flat would there still be gravity?" would you think I was being rhetorical or would you think I was some kind of nut?

Twitter is “official?”

I've lost count of the number of administration appointees who found out they had been fired via Twitter. It's as official is it gets.

Okay. You get it. And I kinda get it. But I’m not concerned about you or me. We’re both solid Trump supporters.

I’m concerned about the swing voter. Maybe he’s a JFK Democrat. He voted for Bill Clinton. And later he voted for Donald Trump. I don’t think he’s going to get the nuance. He’s going to take that tweet literally, mainly because that’s the way the MSM will paint it. And that’s not good for Trump in November.

‘get to know our President.. he has so many good qualities... and let him think outloud..’
But they don’t want to do that! They are anti-Trump no matter what....
I do believe Pres Trump, by doing this, at the very least, is making the whole nation talk about this - the left, as usual, go on full frontal assaults, others will be made aware of this issue and start to pay attention. This gives us perfect chance to show and tell how mail-in votes can be/were easily manipulated resulting in voting fraud.....

We should get to work to educate whoever wants to learn and ensure they massively reject mail-in votes by voting in person

He’s probably trolling, but this sort of trolling does no good and just erodes his support. The trolling doesn’t ONLY upset the MSM - it becomes part of the public perception of who Trump is.

Steve Calabresi, co-founder of the Federalist Society, just put an op-ed in the New York Times calling it “fascistic” and saying it was grounds for impeachment.
