I was under the impression that redistricting has to be based on the census.

I talked to liberals who actually believe there is a difference between undocumented immigrants and illegal aliens. This seems to be the latest invention of theirs going around, even when I show them this link like this they still insist undocumented means some how legal.....

Illegal Invaders.

Immigrants are invited, Invaders are repelled.

A zillion years ago when I was a young chick I signed on to be a census taker in my community....as did some of my friends. We wanted to make a little extra money.

I went door-to-door at houses and door-to-door inside apartment buildings, asking the questions of the residents and writing it down on the forms I had for that address.

I wonder if this is still the methodology. I wouldn't do it today if the government paid me a million dollars per filled-in form and supplied me with a bullet-proof vest and a sub-machine gun.

Illegals have always been included in the census for purposes of apportioning the House districts. Trump is the first one to consider doing otherwise.

This will go to the Supreme Court - they have never ruled on this issue - and Trump will lose - as usual.

This has nothing to do with voting. I'm not certain why you think it does.

This has to do with apportioning the House which is done after every census. By the way, the US has included illegal aliens in every apportionment since the beginning of time, but it does change the make up of the House. Cali gets about 3 or 4 extra seats because of the illegal aliens, as does NY and other high illegal alien states.

Trump does not want to include the aliens in the apportionment process, but I'm afraid Trump will lose at the SC court. I think only Alito and Thomas will vote with Trump while the other 7 vote to include illegal aliens.

This has nothing to do with voting.

Your opinion is duly noted

Why you bracketed some good facts with it is silly.

But no problem, I still respect your post Dave.

And it is also important because ppl here illegally will not be able to vote.

This is about preventing migrants who are in the United States illegally from being counted when U.S. congressional “voting” districts are next redrawn. So yes, it has a lot to do with voting.

But in any case, my post was directed at Adam Schitt, who believes that youngsters and illegal aliens should be able to vote, and he doesn’t care whatsoever about dead people voting and Democrats voting multiple times.

It is not an opinion. The headline of the post is misleading and trust me, I have been following this issue for years.

This has nothing to do with who votes and does not vote in elections. This issue is whether or not to include illegal aliens in the apportionment for the US House of Representatives. To date, the US has always included illegal aliens in the apportionment for the US House of Representatives.

The first census in which it was noticed that illegal aliens were skewing the apportionment was in 1980 and it was minor but noticeable.

I suspected the reason Trump wanted the citizenship question on the census was to exclude illegal aliens in the apportionment, but as you know, the Supreme Court ruled against him.

I read just several weeks ago that Trump has asked the government using other stats to determine the illegal population in every state.

This will obviously go to the Supreme Court and I anticipate that Trump will lose this one, too.

But at least he's trying.

And no it's not silly and no, it has nothing to do with allowing or not allowing illegal aliens to vote as many people incorrectly assumed due to the headline.

Illegal aliens can't vote in federal elections - there is no question about it and the issue is black and white. There are some local jurisdictions that allow illegal aliens or any non citizen to vote in local elections and the Constitution is silent on it, so it is allowed. Those cities must keep two sets of registrations - one for federal and state elections and one for local elections.

This issue has nothing to do with non citizens voting in federal elections but whether non citizens should be included when determining how many reps each state gets in Congress.

If those counties don’t do their due diligence than exclude them from the vote, simple.

But you and I both know that we are one court case away from having the law barring non-US citizens from voting in federal elections struck down. There is absolutely nothing that cannot be rewritten via judicial fiat. If recent history has taught us nothing, it has taught us this.

I will put in a note in my World Almanac that the correct figure for the US population in 1920 was actually 106,021,532.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you on your point. I have never been one to be an alarmist, but we have seen this country lurch left in a way I thought would never happen and so quickly, too.

We are one court case away from allowing non citizens to vote. My sister-in-law is from Australia and has been in the US for decades (in Florida) and I'm glad that she has chosen not to become a US citizen since she is a raving liberal and there is no question as to how she would vote.

It's tiresome hearing that the next presidential election is the most important in our lifetime, but in 2020, I think that is true. Anyway, I will put nothing past the SC allowing.

> Great idea.
> I’m still laughing.

No since the Census is Constitutionally MANDATED to Use the Counts to define Voting Districts, and Non-Citizens cannot vote in Federal Elections (and shouldn’t in most others), it is THE LAW.

DO ENFORCE IT TRUMP - Prevent these democrats from selling out our country.

.

He should talk about $100000 fines and Major Prison time for those Conspiring to commit Voting District fraud via the Census.

.

Stop patronizing me.

I know all the points you think you are ‘teaching’ me.

And your broadbrush of other posters of incorrectly understanding the title is absurd.

Members can post what ever they want on this thread, not just info you approve of.

If you don’t like what I am posting just scroll past instead of acting in such a condescending manner.

I’m posting important info relevant to this thread

“Illegal aliens can’t vote in federal elections”

That’s the law, but is either naive of anyone to think they don’t, or they have an agenda.

Do you think all the people that checked ‘I am a citizen’ on their DL form have been vetted?

No they haven’t, and they DO vote, and in all elections.

(look up B Clinton’s motor voter program)

Millions of illegal insurgent invading alien colonists voted for Hillary in the last Presidential election, and many other elections.

And no, sorry I don’t trust you.
