Rand Paul is correct as usual, although every situation varies. There are times anf places that federal enforcement is needed, but rioting should be a state enforced crime. Other people mentined conspiracy and that's probably federal. But that should be dealt with by investigations and 5 am raids on the perps houses.

I notice nobody menitioned what happens when Biden's VP takes over and uses this tactic on the new tea party protesters. We will be peaceful unlike the rioters. But will be rounded up by the feds.

Local law enforcement SHOULD handle the cities. But, since they don't and won't, WE WILL.

The problem with libertarians is liberalism: all drugs for everyone, abortion, sex changes for children, etc. But reducing federal power is a libertarian ideal (although they need to be consistent about it).

Libertarians in their purest moments are anarchists when it comes to government.

Our founders were Libertarians as far as our rights are concerned, but that did not include any right for violent insurrection, which is what has been going on in Portland. Rand Paul ought to realize and admit that.

A “protest” that goes on for weeks non stop and includes attacks on the edifices of the government is no “protest”. Correctly describe the goings on to a blind person and even the blind person can see that.

1) Identify leader of rioting and/or those committing crimes.
2) Collect evidence of crime.
3) Follow/track loser anarchist till his phalanx of zombies melt away and go home to mommy.
4) Arrest anarchist with minimal risk to police and citizens

As far as I can tell, the Feds are limiting their role to protecting Federal buildings, a legitimate use of force. There was a similar incident in South Carolina 159 years ago. You may remember it from your history class. Oregon, Washington, and California have de facto seceded, as South Carolina and the Deep South states had formally seceded.
