I understand what they accomplished more than half a century ago (ending segregation/Jim Crow); I asked what we see today to indicate they accomplished anything? Back then, even in poverty they had intact families and better education; now most have neither - but they have smartphones and $300 sneakers.
Obama himself, after being handed the White House on a silver platter, implemented the while liberal agenda; he ran as someone who would help blacks while publicly opposing “gay marriage”, and in the end he passed the latter while many fell even further behind (watching eight years worth of new immigrants leave them in the dust). Black Lies Matter started on his watch when enough of them realized they’d been played as white libs’ useful idiots.
It is sad that people such as Lewis found ways to sell hatred and racism to obtain power and wealth.
I’m sure his district will throw up another stellar representative. Maybe his wife as seems to be a thing these days.

You are correct. I didn't dislike him because of his politics but rather for his vitriol and divisiveness. He was an opportunistic individual just like Sharpton. The Soleimani statement snapped it for me.
