Deroy Murdock: Failure of leadership — Pelosi shrugs at statue vandals, ignores this in her own party

Regarding the rampant destruction of public monuments that has plagued America in recent weeks, a scribe asked Nancy Pelosi: “Shouldn’t that be done by a commission or a city council, not a mob in the middle of the night?”

Visibly shrugging her shoulders, Pelosi replied: “People will do what they do.”

What a categorical failure of leadership.

Pelosi easily could have used her high profile to remind these cultural criminals that statues, no matter how controversial, are not theirs to annihilate.

Democrat officials and far-Left activists have laughed off violence since the George Floyd riots erupted in late May.

“Young people, they have a whole new definition for ‘looting,’” said Congresswoman Maxine Waters. “They say, ‘looting’ is predatory lending.”

“A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” is how Attorney General Maura Healey, D-Mass., described widespread arson: “Yes, America is burning, but that’s how forests grow.”

Not to be outdone by the rope-wielding statue killers, Pelosi has declared war on sculptures and paintings of Confederate leaders inside the U.S. Capitol.

But why now?

Pelosi has been a member of the U.S. House since 1987, a full third of a century ago. She first served as speaker between 2007 and 2011, And yet, on this issue, Pelosi was quiet.

Again, why now, and not then?

If Pelosi were sincere about this matter, she would demand the immediate removal of all existing statues of former Senate Democrat leader Robert Byrd of West Virginia. Byrd earned the title of exalted cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan.

When Byrd finally died in office in 2010 at age 92, Obama and Biden eulogized him at his funeral.

If Pelosi wants to dismiss 19th-century Confederates from the U.S. Capitol, she surely cannot countenance the symbolic presence of a 20th-century Klansman.

Pelosi is indeed an evil menace to the US! She refused to condemn this violence and destruction!.....Instead Shrugging her shoulders saying..“People will do what they do,”

' But she has no problem greatly honoring her favorite Stalinist Harry Bridges, a Stalinist and Soviet agent ...in 2001 Pelosi wrote in the Congressional Record:

“Harry Bridges was arguably the most significant labor leader of the twentieth century. Beloved by the workers of this nation, and recognized as one of the most important labor leaders in the world. His Union was the most progressive union of the time.”

Pelosi has nothing to loose really. She believes herself to be the only one to restore the power/control/wealth they had and will certainly use any means to regain the deep states, and her self inflated glory to what it was before Trump.

Think about how old she and so many of these Demorat career politicians are...they were all set to hand over the reins to Hillary, like they did Obama, even Nancy was planning to retire, but then the voters said No! Trump was the monkey wrench that foiled all the elites corrupt plans here in Congress, personally and Internationally......games up!

So they're all trying to stay out of jail by weaponizing everything their hands can touch to do so, just as Hillary and Obama did, so they too can walk off into the sunset in 2020.
