Gov. Phil Murphy says he has no patience for critics who say he’s acting like a dictator as he orders sweeping restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic — a charge that renewed with his recent order to wear masks outdoors.
“People claiming that power’s gone to my head, that I find some joy in making everyone put a face covering on is ludicrous,” Murphy said Thursday night on NJTV. “It’s also irresponsible.”
“Let’s cut that crap out,” he added. “Let’s stick to the basics and the facts, and we’ll be a lot better for it.”
Murphy made the comments a day after he ordered people in New Jersey to start wearing masks outdoors in public when they can’t practice social distancing — such as on a crowded boardwalk or waiting in line for food. New Jersey already mandated masks in public indoor settings.
Some Republicans sharply criticized Murphy for the move, especially as the state’s COVID-19 cases have dropped.
“We see what’s going on in other states and you need to take that into consideration, but we have low numbers and people have been complying,” state Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi, R-Bergen, told NJ Advance Media. “Then you’re suddenly told the exalted ruler wants you to wear masks outside? It makes people question how decisions are being made and why.”
One GOP state senator, Michael Doherty of Warren County, accused Murphy of “exploiting a public-health crisis for power.”
Republicans have also accused Murphy of shutting down businesses to fight the virus in an arbitrary and unfair way, hurting the state’s economy in the process. The state party filed a lawsuit to stop Murphy’s business closings. On Thursday, an appellate court denied their request to pause the orders and to expedite the case.

The facts are this is about controlling people and getting citizens comditioned to swat others for this and an expanding list of offenses to be named in the future

The “Everybody Wear Masks Everywhere” order was obviously issued to liberal Governors when the riots began to fade and they had to somehow amp up the fear again to keep the thing going.
We could make a mint by producing “Fnck Gov Murphy” face masks with holes in the nose and mouth areas.
There is NO solid Science on this.
