Donald Trump: We ‘May Cut Off Funding’ if Schools Do Not Reopen
Breitbart ^ | July 08 2020 | HANNAH BLEAU

President Donald Trump threatened Wednesday to “cut off” funding to schools if they do not reopen in the Fall after closing due to coronavirus concerns.

“In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS,” Trump said.

“The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families,” he continued. “May cut off funding if not open!”

Here’s an idea - why not cut off federal finding for local schools, always?

And eliminate the federal Department of Education, while we’re at it?

Mr. President, the only funding you REALLY need to cut-off is the funding of Anthony Fauci’s paycheck.

If there’s no customers, there’s no reason for so much funding.

I think in any district that announces they are not opening parents should file suit for a refund of the taxes they pay for education. Online learning shouldn’t count since one teacher could teach hundreds of students. There is an online school called K-12 that is free.

Keep the public schools closed permanently.

Give parents a refundable tax credit in an amount sufficient to send their daughters and sons to excellent private schools.

That would cost less and result in actual learning.

Good idea, and include those of us who don't have kids, as well, who have paid high property taxes to fund schools which we don't use.

I don’t see many if any in Congress supporting Trump on that one.

Couldn’t agree more. Online teaching should mean mass layoffs and lower tax bills.

Of COURSE cut off funding. Why would he NOT cut off federal funding? If they’re not having school, why would they think they should get money?

One of the reasons I read for not allowing private schools was because they could reject discipline problem children and they would suck away the better students. Public schools would then be forced to take the problem children and would have only the slow learner students. We would end up with a two tiered education system. Instead, public schools turn out a uniformly bad product.

Absolutely!

School property taxes have become confiscatory.

What do we get in return for all the money spent on public schools? Antifa brats!
