I’m surprised the Portland police haven’t resigned en mass. They have to put up with fending off antifa attacks daily. Someone is bound to get hurt. I’d tell the mayor and governor, it’s all yours baby.
Makes you wonder how the moderates, and even the slightly left Dems, are going to take this.

I’ve been saying it for weeks. The police are THE target now. When that happens, self-preservation is the PRIMARY motivation, for themselves and their family. It is not “to serve and protect” the general population. More and more you will see police self-stand-down, blue-flu, etc. Good cops will leave bad forces to join good forces, and bad cops will infect the remaining bad forces. The result will be huge No-Go zones where crime will proliferate and eventually spill over into adjourning areas. Go and No-Go zones will be the new normal going forward, along with MORE corruption in big-city police forces, not less.
Easy. Don’t respond to calls in black areas and let the dindus kill each other off. Problem solved.

I’ve financed (or provided partial financing) close to 20 restaurants in downtown Portland in the last decade and I really enjoy going there to eat. Thankfully I stopped financing restaurants altogether 3 years ago, so I’m not going to get burned with this COVID and anarchy business.
I conceal carry every time I’m in the city proper, even though it’s illegal. I stopped taking my family to stay downtown about 2 years ago and now I make sure I’m personally out of town before dark. It’s so sad because I love the industrial bridges and buildings there.
One of my best friends is a police officer and he quit Portland and joined the Beaverton police force a few years ago. He said all the people who messed up Portland are now moving to Beaverton and the other suburbs but bringing the same destructive politics with them that destroyed Portland.
I wish the President would use Portland or Seattle as an example, declare martial law in the city or whole county, bring in the combat arms soldiers from Ft Lewis near Seattle and take over the city to get it calmed down. If the brave ANTIFA want to battle combat hardened troops, let them have a go of it. Somewhere, somehow, Trump needs to do this for the sake of the country and for his sake as well.
