No, near Circleville.
Thanks!
There havent even been 100 deaths total in the entire state. This is nonsense.
There is ZERO evidence masks prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. None.
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/pdfs/UnderstandDifferenceInfographic-508.pdf
Does NOT provide the wearer with a reliable level of protection from inhaling smaller airborne particles and is not considered respiratory protection
And that a legitimate surgical mask, not a bandana or piece of cloth ..
This stupidity has to end..
I drove close to there last week, Monterey, Thornwood on 250W.
From Stauton to Weston, that sure is a beautiful drive, as long as you have the time. I liked it enough I plan on going back this fall for the leaves change.
Small world.
You need to stop at the top of the mountain on 250 and check out the Confederate earthworks next time.
They dragged cannons up that mountain to keep the Union out.
I turned north on US 220 at Monterey and went into WV to look at property. Beautiful area.
The wife and I looked at a piece of property in Monterey, Va. many years ago. A pretty area.
I stopped there at the turnout next to the earthworks and walked the trail/path for an hour or so.
Looking down from the ridge seems pretty incredible that they cut that road with ax and spade. Given what the “modern” road is like, it must have been quite the adventure to travel with loaded wagon, either direction. Easy to lose that perspective.
Being up there on the ridge in the winter time, waiting for a fight took some real grit.
As long as the world doesn’t melt down this fall, I’m going to go back and spend some time wandering around wondering at it all.
Glad you stopped, lots of people drive on by without even a look.
The battle of McDowell happened just west.
Another point of interest nearby is Reddish Knob, a fantastic 360 degree view right on the VA/WV line.
Also Natural Chimneys Regional Park.
I have lived in Va for over 40 years and love it, but King Ralph wants to take my guns so I’m looking at someplace in WV so they will be out of his reach.
I went over to Weston and Clarksburg and spent a few days stomping around west of I19. Some great quiet spots with plenty of trees, water and still have flat enough spaces for a house and a little agriculture.
Have to see how the rest of this summer pans out. It’s been a relatively slow year so far, but I’ve just completed a 21 state driving loop through the country. I’m always keeping an eye for places to go back and spend some time.
Just wish sanity, or something resembling it would return to our country, though based on how things have beeb going the last two, I think they are getting worse, not better.
I have lived in Va. for roughly 60 of my (almost) 67 years.
....we are talking about moving on, as well.
