Trump repeats vow to defeat 'radical left' in July Fourth speech

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday vowed to defeat the “radical left,” in an Independence Day speech at the White House that condemned recent protests against monuments to historical figures as attempts to destroy the United States.

Trump claimed without evidence that 99% of coronavirus cases in the United States were “totally harmless.” In fact, many states marked a record number of new COVID-19 cases. In Texas alone, 7,890 patients were hospitalized after 238 new admissions over the past 24 hours.

“There have always been those who seek to lie about the past in order to gain power in the present, those that are lying about our history, those who want us to be ashamed of who we are,” Trump said on Saturday. “Their goal is demolition.”

Trump’s Fourth of July remarks doubled down on his speech the previous evening at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota where he accused “angry mobs” of trying to erase history and painted himself as a bulwark against left-wing extremism.

Just months before November’s presidential election, opinion polls in key states show Trump trailing his Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden. Biden wrote a Fourth of July opinion piece that struck a contrasting note with the Republican president and accused him of finding “new ways to tarnish and dismantle our democracy” every day.

In a separate letter to donors, Biden said: “We have a chance now to give the marginalized, the demonized, the isolated, the oppressed, a full share of the American dream.”

The catch phrase “claimed without evidence” seems to be a democrat stylebook expression that triggers a memory hole with the uninitiated.

It took 3 Reuters half-wits to write what a sixth grader could have banged out in five minutes. I guess it takes three to write this mess. One to write, a second to make sure it’s anti-Trump enough and the third to watch the basement door in case mommy drops in on them unannounced while they are having their journalistic circle jerk.

But claims of racism are always accepted, without evidence.

Was the authors’s claim that Trump has no evidence “without evidence”?

Hey Uncle Joe: I thought you and Obama solved all these problems with Beer Summits?

Trump claimed without evidence that 99% of coronavirus cases in the United States were “totally harmless.” In fact, many states marked a record number of new COVID-19 cases.

The second sentence does not negate the first. Just because there are more cases (due to more testing - which proves that masks and quarantining did no good) doesn't mean Trump is wrong.

I didn't see the number of deaths mentioned. Even though the number of deaths per day is dropping like a stone, to Rooters!, each day brings a "new record" of the number of dead.

SPIN, SPIN, SPIN!!

Ask them how many are hospitalized BECAUSE of covid, and how many WITH covid. Huge difference. They test everyone that comes in for anything.

Typical: 35yo male goes in for a long delayed—elective surgery!—vasectomy procedure. Had covid 8 weeks ago, no symptoms, didn’t even know it. Bingo—covid hospitalization!

Also ask how many deaths. Very, very few.

They are desperate to keep the panic up. And for fearful people (”wear your mask!”), it’s working.

They. Are. Lying. To. You.

Biden has been in DC for forty years, since he was 29 and he’s almost 80.

What did COVID-19 have to do with that speech?

Just another chance for a cheap shot by the rabid anti-Trump press.

Biden held high political offices for decades, and was there and sometimes instrumental in the decisions that have put the US into the trouble that it is in now. Yet, he’s going to magically solve all the problems that he and a host of others created over an almost 50-year span.
